Simple Houseware 2-Tier Stainless Steel Dish Rack with Drainboard, Chrome

This one was purchased as a replacement for my original chrome one. I had it for about 9-10 years and it was still in great condition. I use it now as a drying rack in my garden. I highly recommend and have given them away as well to friends/family as a new home gift.

I love this! It came quickly, within a week, and it is so much nicer than the cheap plastic one I had. This is adorable, it fits perfect in the small space that I needed it for, it was easy to put together, and easy to clean. No more ugly stains in the plastic or build up! Yay! I also love the fact that it has little hooks on the sides for you to hang the utensil basket on either side depending on how you need to position it. It seems to be pretty sturdy and hold a good amount of dishes. Once it was put together I also realized it will be easy to come apart to, so I can take it apart and move it around if needed to save space. Much better than the cheap plastic ones that sit on your counter, worth the money and I would recommend.

With this item you get what you pay for: a cheap small dish rack with a flimsy drainboard. Its nice chrome surface and small footprint are the main features. The rack itself is OK, easy to assemble and you may have to experiment a bit to get it to where it doesn't wobble, but we achieved that. It can fit small dishes in the bottom tier, larger ones in the top. The drainboard is just a thin sheet of plastic.

I had this dry rack before and it needed to be replaced after a few years. The knife holder is a nice upgrade! It’s also got a spot for your cutting board and cups. We love it.

Pros: -- This rack is very airy and ventilated. A plastic and wood dishrack I had bought didn't ventilate enough for our damp climate, so dishes would still be wet the next day. -- This holds our 10-inch dinner plates, 8" salad plates and 6" dessert plates and saucers (see photos). They stand separate and vertical. Plates that are deeply convex, or much wider, might not fit. -- The wide slot attached on the end works for a cutting board. -- I'm not sure what the wire finger thingies are that stick out of the end. I used them once to hold a chef's knife, and once to hold a plastic bag for drying. -- I found assembly very easy. -- Cups can hang by the handle (but glasses without a handle have to stand on the lower level.) -- I don't need the drainboard because our sink has one. The rack stands firm without it. Cons: -- I discarded the plastic silverware holder because it wouldn't ventilate enough, and bought a separate wire silverware holder, which turns out to hang neatly on this. -- I wish it came in different size options, because I could fit one 1 inch wider. -- The lower shelf is a bit small and low-ceiling. It is good for glasses and bowls, but I have to put most pots on the stove to dry. -- I wish it were made of better stainless steel, rather than chrome plated or whatever. I'm afraid this one will rust quickly in our damp climate.

Looks so nice and is very sturdy!

The product is fine - the low star rating is because the product was so POORLY packed that part of it had broken through the shipping container. The product was rattling around in the poorly closed and poorly sealed box and I expected it to be missing parts. I hope “agreed” with receiving it in the factory container, but someone decided I should receive one thrown on a weak box. Having worked in manufacturing in my past, this packaging job was done after it left the factory. I guess I received a “returned” dish rack. Despite that, I needed the rack and kept it. But, Amazon should be ashamed. Hideous way to deliver a product to your customer.

Exactly what I needed

Compact not small, it can hold bunch of dishes, bowls, pans. Very useful. It's justed what I was looking for. I tried to use the knives thingy but mine just slide and don't hold on it, I guess I will continue to wash, dry and store them as I normally do, safer this way if you ask me.

Totally perfect for me

This is perfect size for my tiny kitchen. Love the 2 tiers, holds tons of dishes. Only issue is silverware holder. It doesn't stay upright if you fill with silverware. It dumps it all over floor. It needs to click on metal bar better or have silverware holder bigger from end to end. I always prop something underneath it, so I don't have to keep rewashing silverware. Love the cutting board seperate rack. I think this is worth buying.
