Only downside is the pick on the opposite side is very sharp. A gentle brush on the other end would better help remove food pieces without scratching gums.

These Platypus flossers are pretty good, but I wish they worked perfectly for me. I'm 31 and in braces for the 2nd time (didn't wear my retainer, curses!), but I have a small mouth that makes flossing my back teeth difficult even when I didn't have braces. Before braces, I used the Reach Access flosser which is fantastic, but it doesn't work with braces. These Platypus flossers seemed like a good idea to get under the archwire to floss. I can get my front teeth fine with these Platypus flossers, but I cannot reach my back molars because of my small mouth and narrow smile (I don't have a wide smile opening where you see the back teeth - when I smile you'll only see the front 6 teeth, that's all). The angle with these flossers is wrong for me, I'd have to put this flosser sticking outwards between my cheek and teeth in order to floss (and that's impossible), as I simply cannot stretch my lips back far enough to access those teeth. If you have a wide smile, this probably won't be a problem for you. Another downside is the quality of the floss could be a bit better. It works fine if you have plenty of space between your teeth. However, tight spaces are a problem, it doesn't glide through at all... the floss likes to shred and get stuck and wedged between my teeth, even where I have no crowding. It gets so stuck, I have to get a pair of nail scissors to cut the floss to free it from my teeth. I've never had this problem with my Reach Access flosser - and when I first used these Platypus flossers it was the *same day* that I had braces put on my teeth, so my teeth definitely hadn't moved enough to create any especially tight spaces. These are unusable for me, unfortunately, mostly due to the problem of not being able to reach my molars. If a dentist or orthodontist has said that you have a small mouth, or when you smile you don't see your back molars, you may want to avoid the Platypus flossers. My search continues for a way to floss with braces.

Platypus Orthodontic Flossers for Braces were recommended by several of our friends whose kids have braces. Although my son and daughter do not love flossing, this floss makes it much easier while they are wearing braces. The floss is strong and doesn’t break. It works great around the brackets. They are a bit pricey, but worth it for the convenience (and fewer complaints from my kids).

Ik heb sindskort een beugel en deze tandenstokers zijn echt een uitvinding. Het vergt wel enige gewenning maar je leert snel hoe je het kan gebruiken. De prijs is wel wat aan de dure kant maar er zijn weinig alternatieven.

het is best een gedoe om het tussen de tanden te krijgen en bij heleboel tanden lukt dit zelfs niet door de hoek. Ook is de flosdraad best zwak en gaat het snel kapot - is dus veel geld voor die paar tanden waar het wel lukt...

Fantastic product. I wish I’d found these when I first got my braces over 12 months ago. The part where the floss strand is, has a thinner pointed bit that allows it to slip up under the braces wire, allowing the floss to actually go up between the teeth. Normal ones just hit the wire and do not go any further. Finally, I can do a proper flossing!!

I buy these for my daughter with braces. In my opinion there is no better way to floss under the wire. They are easy to use and fast.
