Great TV at a great price!
My 12 year old VIZIO TV, while still in the prime of life and working fine, was only 1080 and I was craving a better experience when this cartwheeled across my field of vision. I got this on sale, a 4k TV for less than $200. It's a dumb TV - no apps, no internet, no nothing. I don't need, it, my TV is effectively a second monitor so I can watch youtube and Prime Video. Very quick and easy to set up, and the picture is crystal clear, vibrant and bright. Set up was a breeze and within a few minutes I had everything up, ready and set. Can't ask for anything more!

Perfect TV for 85 Year Old Mother!!!
My mom's tv went out and when we went to buy a new one, found out they don't sell "dumb" tvs anymore. She is 85 years old and has dementia so a smart tv was out of the question. This tv arrived 3 days early and was in perfect condition. Set it up in less than 30 minutes. She is so happy and that's all that matters to me! It has a great picture and sound for the price. Very happy with the purchase.

This is the best in class and the worst in class
Affordable non-smart televisions are rare, making this the only television in its class.Pros: light weight, great picture, 1 RCA input, optical audio out. Easy setup.Cons: wall bolts not included, meaning you will have to make a trip to the hardware store (time and fuel) to purchase 4x10 cent bolts and washers. No optical out cable included, though odds are you will need one. 3.5mm audio out it located in the most inconvenient location possible, so forget about using your headphones. Like all new, cheap (and not so cheap) televisions you will need a sound bar. The internal speakers are small sound only.Weirdness: I wanted the Sceptre 50", but Komodo by Sceptre was all that was available, so I settled. When my Amazon order for the Komodo by Sceptre arrived it was actutally the newly released Sceptre U515CV-UMRDD. Komodo by Sceptre nowhere to be seen. I am happy in getting what I really wanted, but what is up with ordering a fictional brand only to receive the real brand that appears to be discontinued but is not?Recommendations: If you want a non-smart big screen television this is your only choice, and it is not a bad choice. BUT, I, who am an extended warranty skeptic, bought the 4 year protection plan because there is a good chance I am getting what I paid for.

Future is dumb!
I decided to get a new tv so that I could actually watch what I want to every once in a while. I kept looking at the usual products, but after having a smart tv that cost $1500 only a few years ago, and is now as slow and responsive as an iPad Gen 1, I figured id do a dumb tv and buy roku/fire/chrome cast device. Since I already had two 144hz Sceptre gaming monitors that I like, I figured let’s try something bigger.Boy did I instantly realize LG Sony Samsung should be focusing more on being a tv, and let a separate device be the computer chip you can upgrade every year for $50.I now have a pretty decent tv, super fast and responsive and headphone pairing roku speaker that allows me to play Valhalla or watch some Luther while the girls watch their shows or while I work! All for a 1/3 the price.I am able to play games at 60hz and 60FPS with a good picture. Obviously my 144hz gaming monitors are better and needed, when I’m playing a more intensive From Software game, but Netflix and regular gaming work great on this. Here’s hoping this market gets bigger so there are more options for just a tv, not some wanna be OS that is not intuitive and slow after a year.

Crappie picture and sound is worse than my tv from the 70's.
Sucks. I should have got a smart TV. My 32inch is a smart tv. Didn't realize that it made such a difference. Plus the sound on it sucks and my sound bars sound louder and more clear thru tiny 32. I'm going to give it a way or throw it out. I'm going to have to get another TV. At least I know what not to buy.

EASY SETUP and Works Fine
I am both technically and mechanically challenged. I am nearly 90 years old and have been left behind in this generation. Even the simplest tasks require 3 to 10 times the normal amount of time that other people take. I wanted a Non-Smart TV because my apartment complex provides free cable TV service. And Smart TV's that I've tried did not seem compatible with cable service. At least, I was not able to set them up. I don't know technical terminology and what is written about specifications, etc. So, everything to me is like reading "GREEK" or some other language. This Spectre TV is unbelievably simple to setup and operate. For other technically challenged people, like myself, I am most pleased to recommend it. Go for it; you won't be sorry!

Love that it is a dumb TV but there are quality issues
I am very sad to be writing this review as I really appreciate that the Sceptre brand is keeping dumb TVs alive, but I feel I have to. I ordered this TV and received one with dead pixels. They were very minor, single pixels near the screen edges that could not be seen from across my room, which is quite small. Still dead pixels are dead pixels and I requested to exchange for a new one which I was granted. I shipped the old one back leaving me without a TV for a while and received my new TV around a week later. This one had the same issue so I contacted Sceptre directly and was offered a discount. Great! The dead pixels were not too bad and so I was happy. A few months later though and I now have a splotch of dead pixels a quarter inch in diameter in the viewing area. This is now an issue for me and I am requesting a refund for the rest of my money.
