Good value when discounted!
Good red dot, bright. Like the rotary dial better than buttons to control brightness.

Excellent optic and investment.
Excellent optic for the price. Holosun in my opinion has some of the best bang for your buck optics on the market. Dust water and shockproof, hold zero, and have been very durable in my experience. Work well with or without magnification, and match up with most mounts and magnifiers. Not a $70 no name red dot that you will replace in a few range sessions

Honestly as good as some expensive dots
I bought this because my Romeo 4x Pro had to go to Sig for RMA work and none of my other red dots worked well on that particular rifle. I just wanted something cheap to use until I got my 4xt back (and I kinda felt like buying something new for fun)I didn’t have high expectations but I was extremely impressed with this red dot. The reticle is as crisp and clear as the ones on my 4xt and AimPoint t2. It really outperforms its price point. One of the main reasons I chose this one in particular is because of the rotary wheel brightness adjustment and lack of a solar panel. The clicks on the wheel are sharp and feel greatNow, this obviously isn’t a T2. But it’s pretty dang good for what it is. So what started out as a cheap red dot to throw on a rifle while my nice one was being replaced ended up getting a permanent home on one of my other rifles.I was considering a Holosun 515 but thought that was too similar to my 4xt. Then I was considering a Romeo 5 but I wasn’t a huge fan of the way that looked. I’m just really happy I chose this one.

Bright
Super easy to find the dot and the battery tray is perfect.

Great sight
Excellent sighting system. I have the 503c red dot on a 1301 12 gauge and love it. If it would have had the solar panels on the top it would have been a 5 star rating. The gold dot is very easy on the eyes especially in low light conditions and it doesn't wash out in bright daylight (even in desert environments).

Travels well
Took this with me to the Ukraine and it works great targeting drones.

I hate red dots.
The title explains my opinion of red dots, but this thing is awesome. Very crisp dot that goes June 6, 1944 bright if you want it to. Very nice and tactile~but easy to turn rheostat dial, and out in the daylight it doesn't blur due to my astigmatism like most red dots as long as I don't turn it up excessively bright. The mount that comes with it is trash, spend 15 bucks and get the utg mount for it, that mount is solid and has built in recoil lugs. It also looks nice. The blackish-grayish black finish isn't the most durable, but it's not bad and it wears nicely. Mine has some minor wear and I beat it around all over the place. Best red dot for the money imo and has been absolutely awesome. I still have some mbus sights for backup because I don't trust electronics, but this thing has been great.

Fantastic
You could pay a lot more for a red dot. But why? Holosun continues to put out products that compete with the major competitors at a fraction of the price. I’ve been running this optic on a MK18 for about a year now and have had no issues whatsoever. I ran it through 40 hour SWAT school where my rifle was put through the ringer. It’s been dropped, kicked, dragged, and continues to hold zero. With an advertised battery life of 100,000 hours it beats red dots at 3-4 times the price. On 9-10 power the dot is clearly visible even on the brightest days. The people complaining about the battery cap scratching are not doing any real training. Your rifle/optic should have scratches on it…. If you want a red dot that will handle anything you throw at it without breaking the bank, pick one up. Holosun nailed it with this one.
