All Around Bustletown: Winter (All Around Bustletown Series)

Great book, lovely pictures and good quality. We have four of these books already, each is beautiful and interesting. Our 2 years old boy loves them and even our 7 years old is in love with them. I like to look at them too, each page has the same people in, with different situation in different place. It's funny and keeps our little boy occupied during meal times.

An almost clever wordless book with detailed illustrations to pore over and particular characters to follow throughout the book.But I find the use of a nude and dog urinating unnecessary and distasteful for the intended audience of small children. Studying artwork depicting a nude model, with context, is fine and part of an education of the liberal arts. A crude drawing in a book intended for young children to pore over I find to be just crass. And the dog urinating added to the crassness. Shame as the rest of the book was good enough at evoking a natural sense of wonder without the need to stoop to needing vulgarity as its appeal.It's also more about a busy town at wintertime than about winter itself.

I'm so happy these books are finally available in English in their original, boardbook format! (even though its language doesn't really matter)My daughter has got these books when she was a baby, and loved them. Now she is nearly 5 and they are still one of her favourites! There are so many stories and layers in them: you can play find and spot on the page, follow someone's journey through the book; and if you get all the seasons you can follow their lives thoughout the year, and compare the pages in different seasons/how time passes... it is never-ending fun for kids and adults alike!

Is a great book even if there is no text; helps the children to engage in the landscape and create their own stories.We have the Winter and Autumn ones, my 3 years old really likes them.
