Bought one as a gift for my wife and it is a great concept, but it does not always perform very well. It seems that the liquid needs to be VERY hot for it to really work. I have noticed with some liquids that are hot, but not scolding hot, do not cause the cup to always reveal itself. And even when it does work, the background color on the cup does not turn very white as it should, it is almost a soft grey making the lettering difficult to read. This is especially true for the top 1/4 of the mug. Getting that last part to reveal itself seems to be difficult. It seems the closer to the top of the mug you get the less sensitive it is. Probably because the liquid at the top cools much faster and the mug never reaches a high enough temperature near the top to reveal the lettering. Sort of a bummer. But like I said the concept is good it just needs some better implementation.

I got this mug for my wife about a year ago and she still loves it as much as she did when she first got it. It works as good as it did when it was brand new. I see a few people said they only got a few uses out of it before it breaking on them. I'm not sure what the situation was, but one way to make sure this product lasts is by handwashing it. You'll damage this cup, especially the heated lettering if you put it in the dishwasher.

This cup cracked on it own when adding hot water for coffee to it. Now it’s outside the time frame to return it.Got maybe 5 uses out of it😞

It cannot be seen as there is a black coating that cannot be read through! A waste of money!
