I need good print quality to give clients proposals so I am stuck using genuine HP. Stuck I say because of the cost, I've never had a single problem with HP quality in the 15 years I've being using laser printers but I've had loads of headaches with knockoff aftermarket cheapo cartridges. And I don't know how many times it happened that when I needed the cartridge and it failed it was months from when purchased, and as part of a multipack. I just combat the price wall by choosing the lowest cost supplier and by going X. This one has been performing flawlessly, according to plan, so I can continue on about my business and not be stamping up and down with ink on my hands next to a pile of streaky or spotty documents. Instead I can meet my clients with my happy face even if I have not checked through every single document out of the printer to review quality, and I don't need to do that because I buy genuine HP.

HP original replacement may be expensive. But believe me, after buying an "off brand" here on AMAZON I was glad to go back to paying $114 for a cartridge. The off brand had terrible color, streaks and ghosting. Use the original HP toner cartridges if you demand a good clean and clear copy.

I know these are a little more expensive than other generic cartridges. IN fact, I bought some just to see the difference. Result: genuine HP is the way to go if you want your prints like labels and letterhead to come out right. Some of the cheap generic ones offer more frustration than it's worth in savings. my one complaint is that i feel like there is way more ink left when it starts to suggest replacement. I also wish that they had a high yield​ because they run out fast in my opinion. That could also just be my printing habits which uses a lot of labels (more toner).

Never, never trust off-brand or "rebuilt" toner cartridges for your expensive HP printer. Ignoring the prevalent reports of disaster from use of cheap alternative products is just plain foolish when genuine HP replacements are available. Better yet, the HP-made cartridges truly are high yield and thus actually save you money, while the competitive pricing offered by Amazon makes them our "go-to" supplier. Most highly recommended.

Lesson learned: I tried another brand from Ikuten and didn't work very well on color quality matching for half the price. After receiving no response, I came back to HP which has same quality as their original starter cartridges for my HP M277dw color laser printer. Amazon still had lowest price compared to retail or other outlets. Amazon's package deal of four color catridges costs more than the four individual cartridges.
