Audio Pro Link 1 - Wireless WiFi Adaptor - Make Any Speaker Wireless - Compatible with Alexa

I mainly got this as I wanted a robust hi-fi quality Airplay streamer addon for my existing setup , that would output bit-perfect airplay by digital output to my external DAC. I didn't want to compromise on an old 2nd hand Apple AirPort unit.This is great, it seems fully robust, good wifi and ethernet connectivity to my network, not needed rebooting since I have bought it - always available to iTunes as an airplay receiver, seems to sound bit-perfect, no anomalies, noises, fuzziness whatever, just right.Although that is all I bought it for, for which it delivers (albeit slightly expensively), it also offers handy additional streaming services some of which don't seem to be available on, for example, my HEOS setup - iHeartRadio, XIMALAYER, QQMusic (whatever they are) in addition to many of the usual suspects like TuneIn and Spotify etc. (but no Amazon Music, sadly).But that's not what I bought it for - if you have been looking for a very solid Airplay receiver with both Ethernet, wifi, USB-powered, and digital out, then this, as far as I can tell, fits the bill very well. As I said it is SOLIDLY engineered every way I can tell. You get what you pay for.

OK, first I will say that I like Audio Pro products and have some of their AddOn 'C' range speakers as well as an A10. The sound quality of these speakers are great, even if the app does need a little improvement (it does work). I'm coming from a Sonos system that has become unreliable after 9 years due to a bad update (Sonos cannot help though they admit the problem - they simply offered 30% a £2,500 replacement).The Link 1 was a major disappointment. It connects and operates as expected and reliably, but the sound quality is awful. Now I'm running it on quite a decent system (amp + speakers around £4-5,000 but it is connected digitally via toslink. Now, as a software developer by trade, I would have thought the only thing this unit has to do is convert Spotify's 320kbps MP3 stream into PCM (digitally) - how could this be messed up? No expensive components required, just need to get the software right (that's been done by others for 20+ years).What is produced sounds like a 64kbps MP3. The "openness" of the sound coming from my iPhone's internal speaker sounds better than this in terms of clarity if not bass of course.I tried two units, both the same. To be fair, when I contacted Audio Pro they said that it's not intended to be connected to a system like this, but the poor quality can even be heard through a £350 Yamaha sound bar. Marketing does picture an AV receiver so this revelation seems a little poor after you've purchased. My Sonos Connect did the job perfectly. Even my Sky Q, Xbox One and PS4 can sound crystal clear through this system.Gave two stars as it does work reliable, just the sound quality that lets it down. On the plus side, Amazon returns were as good as ever - easy and quick.

I bought this to link my older Audio pro T9 and the newer Audio pro C5.It works well linking the T9 to the wifi enabled C5. I haven't experienced any drop outs in the signal, you can pair and unpair the speakers easily with the app. I'm very pleased with this , it is a bit pricey but worth it to be able to listen to music all around my home.UPDATE: Remember when setting up to open Audio Pro app go into speaker then Info and check the box for unit password and add a password ,otherwise you will leave an open Wi-Fi link to your home network.

Habe mich für zwei "Link 1" entschieden weil ich zwei Multiroom- fähige Spotify Connect Clients haben wollte. Die mässigen Bewertungen der App waren mir vorher bekannt bzw. Suspekt, aber ich habe mir gedacht ich probiere es aus. Ich betreibe beide "Link 1" in einem Managed WLAN mit mehreren Access Points von Ubiquiti (später wichtig).Hardware/Klang:Ich betreibe den Hauptclient an einem Rotel RA-12 mit Dynaudio Audience 40 Lautsprechern. Qualität über optisch Toslink/SPDIF ist wie von Spotify zu erwarten, gibt nichts zu meckern. Design und Haptik ansprechend.Software:Die Qualität der "Audio Pro" Einrichtungs- App (auf Android) ist unterirdisch. Einrichten des Clients ins WLAN gelingt mal, mal nicht, nicht reproduzierbar. Die Einrichtung via der in IOS eingebauten Funktion "Airplay Speaker Verbinden" funktioniert gefühlt leicht besser, wohl dem der ein Ipad/Iphone hat.Wlan:Problematisch. Der Link 1 nicht mit 5GHz Wlan kompatibel (soweit so gut, ist dokumentiert), aber zusätzlich schlägt die Einrichtung fehl wenn man eine SSID nutzt die sowohl auf 2.4G als auf 5G aktiv ist. Und das auch wenn kein Band Steering mit "Prefer 5G" o.ä. aktiv ist.Deaktiviert man 5G funktioniert die Einrichtung, danach kann man es wieder aktivieren. 40Mhz Kanalbandbreite mag er auch nicht, wenn man auf 20MHz reduziert geht es besser. Auf sowas muss man erstmal kommen - für einen weniger versierten Nutzer ist hier Schluss.Bei den ganzen Problemen mit WLAN dachte ich mir, das gute Stück hat ja LAN, mal anklemmen und dann darüber das WLAN konfigurieren. Pustekuchen, man kann ihn dann zwar nutzen (ausschliesslich DHCP), aber die WLAN Konfiguration ist dann gesperrt.Multiroom/WLAN:Nachdem ich mit einigen Kraftausdrücken beide im WLAN hatte habe ich Multiroom ausprobiert. Dazu braucht man leider die Steuer- App. Funktionierte auch sofort, allerdings meckerte dann der Unifi WLAN Manager dass der zweite Link 1 aus dem WLAN geflogen war. Multiroom funktionierte aber klaglos. Stellt sich heraus: im Multiroom Betrieb spannt der "Master" eine eigene WLAN SSID auf und der "Slave" connected sich in dieses WLAN.Das macht nun einen Blumenstraus an Problemen: Ich habe ja nicht aus Langeweile ein Managed WLAN mit mehreren APs; dass die beiden im Multiroom Modus gekoppelten Geräte untereinander WLAN aufbauen können ist pures Glück.Das Interconnect- WLAN benutzt ein 10.x.x.x/8 Netzwerk (was potentiell mit dem WLAN "aussen" kollidiert), und man offenbar auch nicht ändern kann. Wie und ob das WLAN verschlüsselt ist habe ich noch nicht geschaut - schlimmstes ist zu vermuten.Mal sehen ob ich vielleicht noch teste wie sich Multiroom via Kabel- LAN verhält, wenn das besser geht werde ich wohl Strippen ziehen.Fazit:Als Single Client (vor allem via LAN Kabel) ganz OK, mit WLAN gruselig, mit Multi- AP Managed WLAN ist die Multiroom Funktion potentiell kaputt weil die Kommunikation nicht über das bereitgestellte Netz läuft.

Mon avis sur ce produit est partagé:1) en mode unitaire, il fonctionne plutôt bien même si le temps de réaction au démarrage et à la connexion peuvent être longs, voire non robustes. Il faut parfois plusieurs tentatives pour que le système se connecte au wifi ou qu'AudioPro détecte le streamer. A par cela, l'interface fonctionne bien avec Spotify Connect ( on pilote directement la musique via Spotify, pas besoin de passer par l'application AudioPro ). J'ai aussi utilisé Itune pour les WebRadios, pas de problème.2) en mode multi room on retrouve le même type de fonctionnement avec en plus un appairage des boitiers à réaliser avec l application. Par contre il faut bien comprendre que dans ce mode, l un des boîtiers rediffuse aux autres le flux de données via son propre wi fi dans un mode étoile = le maître au centre, et les suiveurs dits esclaves en périphérie qui doivent donc être à portée du signal du maître . Il ne semble pas possible d'utiliser de CPL pour augmenter la portée ( j ai fait des essais infructueux, le support technique m a confirmé que cela n etait pas possible ). Si vous avez comme moi des murs épais, alors certaines pièces ne pourront pas fonctionner en multi room.C est une très grosse contrainte du système Audiopro.Le système Yamaha Multicast permet de renvoyer le signal en "saute mouton" d un boîtier à l autre ce qui permet d étendre la portée du réseau. Par contre, c'est 4 fois plus cher qu Audipro Link1.Donc en résumé, si vous prévoyez de sonoriser une maison de taille réduite avec des parois fine, Audiopro Link1 est un système au très bon rapport qualité /prix.Par contre dès que les distances s allongent un peu avec des obstacles ce qui est mon cas, alors le mode multi room permettant de diffuser la même musique dans plusieurs pièces ne marche pas du tout Il vous faudra alors vous orienter sur un autre système.
