Comfort or vanity? You have to make a choice with this bra
Maybe we watched too much "Twilight Zone" on New Year's but ever since I've been coveting a bra to make me look, uh... younger, like the smartly dressed women in the offices. I'm what the ads call "full-figured," so I've been on the hunt for years: always looking for that perfect bra. The closest I've come has been sports bras, and they're not only not always cost-friendly but they also don't give me the shape I desired. When I randomly came across the Exquisite Form Fully Women's Original Support Bra, reasonably priced ($14.00 at time of purchase), I gave it a shot. As in the title of this review, the wearer has to choose between comfort and vanity.Comfort: Little. As it's not spandex, there is almost no "give." It's not as stretchy as the description led me to believe. By the end of the day, it's quite uncomfortable.Vanity: Wow. I haven't been this... I haven't been this close to looking as I had when I was 16 in a VERY long time. The support is VERY good, with nice wide straps that don't dig. You'd never guess it's wire-free.Yeah, it's uncomfortable and no, it's not my new favorite. However, vanity is, as my mom always said, a survival skill. Feeling that we look good makes many of us feel better. Not bad for $14,

IT IS IMPORTANT TO PUT THESE BRAS ON RIGHT...AND THE FIT WILL AMAZE YOU! READ MORE.....
I wished they had these in the F FF FFF Sizes. These used to be only available at SEARS. And more expensive. To fill up the cup..you need to hook up your bra..with the cups and straps down ...bend at waist..pull your breasts into the cups..pulling each in..actually shake some..(imagine pouring yourself into the cup)When cups look full. Still bending at waist....Put your arms in one at a time. And adjust the straps either bending or after standing.. (either one will produce different results)It is too big..if you have too much room left in the cup. And too small if you have too much hanging out or top or sides. BOTTOM LINE IS IT WILL NOT CUT INTO YOUR SHOULDERS IF IT IS THE RIGHT FIT.ALSO..MACHINE WASH GENTLE CYCLE MILD DETERGENT ..COLD WATER..HANG TO DRY..SHAPE CUPS IN POINT ON HANGAR TO REMAIN SHAPE.

Runs large
I can't understand the reviews that say this bra runs small in the band size, unless maybe the manufacturing has changed. It runs huuuuuge. I had heard that the cup was a full size bigger than normal so I sized down; what I didn't expect was how big the band size is. I'm a 36C in a Doreen and a Playtex 18hr and I kept reading how small the Exquisite band is so I ordered a 38B and it is at least two sizes too big. This isn't like the bras you're going to pick up in the pink chain store in the mall. It fits like the other, er, 'full coverage' 'lift and separate' styles and the proportions are different to fashion bras. There isn't much stretch here (a little in the straps and that's about it) and there is a lot of shape. If you're used to mall bras you may worry about putting out a child's eye with this one. It's the perfect shape for wearing with vintage clothes.

Thin--yes, but better support than thicker, more expensive bras
I am a 38 D or DD, depending on the bra. I ordered a 38D in this because people said it ran big, and realize I probably should have gotten the DD. I have a 38" under bust and 38.5" upper bust, and I am a 43.5" full bust. I have had a child, and my breasts have a lot of stretch marks, and I am in my 50's so things are not as perky as when I was in my 20's and 30's. That said, I am also very active and I HATE all the elastic they put in bras because I want my chest to NOT wiggle, and the elastic defeats that purpose. I typically wear 2 bras every day--One to give me lift, and one to hold things down, give me some privacy, and hold it all in, so there's no side-boob.When I took this bra out of the package, I laughed, because as other have said, it's feel is stiff, and flimsy all at the same time. BUT!!!! Once I put it on, bent over to fill the cups (and wiggle things into their proper place fully), and adjusted the straps---Holy Cow--it gave me more lift and stability than large chested sports bras, push-up bras, full-figured bras, and any combination of those all costing 3-4 times what this one cost. I could not believe it. I also realized I should have gotten the DD, and maybe more of my side-boob would be more minimized. This bra is onto something most modern bras don't address. I am very particular about privacy (I don't want any to know when I am cold), and even though this bra is thin, the seams down the middle do give privacy. It does have a bullet bra shape, a bit too much for me from the side view for wearing a tight t-shirt, sweater or knit top. But when wearing a blouse, it really, really feminizes and does nice things for curves, so I will keep it for blouses and dresses that have a looser fit and more drape. So, that's the good. Here's how they could improve this bra:1) Yes, the fabric leaves something to be desired. But I do love that it is NOT stretchy, so maybe a soft cotton with no elastic and a tighter fabric weave (no stretch?)?2) The seams on the cup are a little rippley and it looks like you could possibly have 4 nipples when wearing a tight shirt. I don't really see these ripples in a blouse. More careful cutting of the fabric and careful sewing could eliminate this.3) The straps need work. I love that they are accessible when on--that is a huge bonus, but the tab you use to pull for adjusting the length, at least on me, is about 3.5" inches long, and is supposed to sit squarely under the strap, only there is no loop or anything to tuck it into, and it wiggles out when wearing, and then lays toward my neck and hangs out my shirt collar, looking weird. Velcro or something, with the softer part of the velcro on the bottom of the strap against the skin??4) The shoulder pad that slides up and down is a great idea, but it too, is a bit floppy and it pokes out my shirt. I like the idea, but like the rest of the bra, it needs more substance and a better design to be comfortable, useful and function well.I am going to make my own version of this bra, using this bra as a pattern. I will round the tip of the cup just a bit so that I can wear this with t-shirts and knits without looking like I will poke someone to point of blood, if I bump them, lol. I will also make it out of all natural fabrics with no stretch, and an improved strap and some boning in the center to really frame my breasts and encourage the extra support in the cup to do its job. All in all, this was worth it's cheap price for wearing with dresses, blouses, and to use as a template. And I might try ordering the DD just to see if the fit is improved.Don't expect high quality materials, but do expect a different and maybe better bra fit experience than modern cut bras give, depending on your desired final look with clothing on. Rockabilly, vintage, etc, will find this bra useful.
