Does this really chip pine needles?

It will chip leaves and needles. I use it more for leaves and pine needles since I live in the Pinelands of New Jersey.

Does this work well with pine needles and pine cones, or would it be better to get a leaf mulcher/shredder?

I mix pine needles with other materials (weeds, leaves, stalks). I haven't tried cones - they are kind of dense.

Can this also shred yard waste...weeds, leaves?

Yes. We trimmed our Navajo Globe Willow trees with it. When there are lots of thin stuff it can get clogged, but easily cleared with larger branches. Wonderful tool!

Box missing screws that connect hopper. Where can I find replacements?

I would go to a hardware, Lowe or home depot store! It’s a #8 screw, 1 1/8” long
