Great knife, awesome value
I only recently got into surf fishing, and needed a good knife after the more expensive knife I had didn't fair to well trying to process a 5 foot blacktip last year. I don't remember the name of the knife I was using but it cost me around $75. It didn't hold an edge, and had to be sharpened at least 5 times while processing the shark. So with another family beach trip looming, and the hope of catching something worthwhile, I started hunting for what would hopefully be a better replacement. Knowing my propensity for tearing up or losing gear, and the fact that in a year I maybe get to make 2 or 3 trips to to the beach, I was looking to spend as little as possible.I read several positive reviews of this knife, and the price was very reasonable if it performed as well as the reviews would lead one to believe. The knife came pretty sharp, but not quite shaving sharp. When it comes to my work knives I'm very particular about having a razor edge, as my life and others could depend on it (LEO). I gave it a run it over one of my finer whet stones, and then gave it a nice stropping. It took the edge very quickly, and after that it would shave the hair off my arm with only the weight of the knife. So off to the beach I went. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. Caught a 37 inch bull red and as you can see in the picture I was thrilled. Other than shark this is the biggest game fish I've taken surf fishing. The knife performed great. Even after processing the fish. The knife still had a razor sharp edge. I processed several other smaller fish including 2 smaller bonnet head sharks and it still has a decent edge that only needed to be retouched after I got home.I also really like the sheath. it has nice belt slots on it that work great with a web belt. The sheath has a positive click to tell you it's in and a solid retention. The handle it very soft and comfortable with a positive grip surface that doesn't fatigue your hands. I plan on getting several other KastKing products to try out.

Knife
I bought the strong optionfor a deterrent/self defense. It seems like a great saltwater knife.Very sharp and solid. It also has a real horror/slasher film type look to it with the curved blade. It’s big.Be nice to carry when diving too.

Big knife
It feels like a good sharp fillet knife. I have not used it on trout, it's to large for trout.I'm sure it will work out nice on steelhead and salmon. The blade feels like good flexibility and a good grip.Sheath is even bigger, it's bigger than what the picture shows.I'm looking forward to filleting larger fish.I feel it's a excellent knife for the price.

High Quality fillet knife for a fraction of the price
This knife is amazing. Doesnt matter much but it came in a very impressive box. The blade comes razor sharp and cuts like a dream. Ive cut up roughly 100s of lbs of Alaskan Halibut and other various fish with "high end commercial" fillet knives and and this one cuts just as good if not better. And for this price!!! I have to say I have good size hands (size Xl in most gloves) and this handle is way too big. I'm guessing if your working as a deckhand with the big rubber gloves you would love it but as I'm using it as a enthusiast angler and general home use it's way too big. The handle material is extremely durable and non slip rubber almost a silicone feel with really nice texture. All in all its 5 stars from me. Really nice knife.

5 Stars for the price
This is a great knife, however it falls short of Bubbas, which is probably the closest product to compare it too. The blade is razor sharp, and nearly identical to the Bubba Blade. For someone with chronic hand issues, the grip is critical to me. The KastKing looks more similar than it feels to a Bubba. Bubba Blade grips are ergonomically perfect in my opinion, and the KastKing is nowhere close to being as comfortable to hold. The KastKing shealth is far more substantial than the fabric Bubba shealth. I would not want to hang the KastKing from a belt because its so clunky. But I wouldn't hang any 9" fillet knife from a belt, so doesnt matter. The KastKing shealth could be mounted easily to a fishing table with screws, which I think is really cool.Overall, the KastKing is a great knife at a tremendous value. Too me, with my hand issues, the Bubba Blade's superior grip is worth the extra money. For most people, the KastKing should more than satisfy.

7 Inch Knife Locks Very Tightly Into Sheath
I have not yet used the knife on fish, only received the product today, and purchased due to ability of sheath to be strapped to PFD while kayaking and inclusion of a lanyard hole in the grip for the ability to add a floating lanyard. Also, white handle will stay cool in the sun. Many reviewers state the knife is loose in the sheath and falls out. I was ready for this to be the case with mine and make necessary modifications, but none are needed. Maybe they are not pushing the knife all the way into the sheath, as mine locks in very firmly and takes a similar amount of force to remove just as my river shorty emergency knives that are hung upside down on my PFD. The handle is very comfortable and the edge is factory sharp and sliced through paper no problem with a quick test. The white handle appeared dirty but was actually micro fuzz from where the top and bottom of grip contacted the fuzz coated protective packaging insert. The packaging is very nicely done, up there with top shelf bottles of scotch. Eagerly awaiting putting it to use on the locally stocked trout and even those fish in the river my state says not to eat.
