Great dryer for our little dog
Yes it is loud, but you can lower the air volume which makes it quieter. We use full open when drying his body and then turn it down half way to do his face and ears. It cuts the drying time by half.

Worth every penny for my German Shepherd's impacted undercoat
My 12 year old German Shepherd has gotten to where when its time to shed her dense undercoat (Spring) it tends to get impacted. Even with a good shampoo and conditioner, combined with undercoat brushes, slicker brushes, dematting combs and a furminator, nothing was removing that wooly bushy undercoat. I'm sure it was making her miserable and with Summer approaching I knew I had to do something. I even tried our leaf blower (which she actually loved...probably felt good against her itchy skin) but it didn't really remove much. So, I went ahead and bit the bullet and purchased the Flying Pig even though I only had $220 in my checking account at the time. It arrived the next day and I immediately unpacked it to try it out: It was amazing! Its not even that loud. I put it on the highest setting, put on the round nozzle that concentrates airflow and started blowing out her coat. It was like peeling an orange. Huge tufts of impacted undercoat were just flying out and peeling off her. Tufts I'd been trying to remove for weeks with little progress just blew right out. And this was without doing a shampoo and condition first to loosen any fur. It look about an hour of drying (it should be noted the air does warm up a little due to the motor even when you dont use the heat feature, but seeing as it was a very cool day my girl didn't seem to mind at all.) I'd say about 95% of her undercoat came right out after that first use, not to mention a shocking amount of dander. I should've worn a mask, my entire face and arms looked like they'd been dipped in chalk dust. She didn't even really require any brushing to remove leftover hair. She went from feeling like a thick wooly sheep to a silky soft dog whose fur you can easily run your fingers through. I can tell she feels better, and bonus, there's way less furry tumbleweeds being left all over the house. I actually use the blower everyday when I take her out for her morning pee. I changed to the wider flatter nozzle and give her a quick 1-2 minute little blowout. She really seems to enjoy it. So, if you're on the fence, just get it. Trust me, its so worth it.

Very Quiet
I considered several other cheaper dryers on Amazon, but after reading the reviews on Amazon and watching some videos on YouTube I decided to spend a little more money and get this dryer. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it is. I was very surprised because I expected it to make more noise. I read reviews about other dryers that were noisy and shrill. I am using this on a 9 weeks old Bernedoodle, and she did not object to it all until I blew air on her head. I have since read you should avoid the dog's face, and especially the ears. Someone suggested that I try a Happy Hoodie (available on Amazon) to avoid blowing in her ears. I ordered one of those and hope it helps. The dryer appears to be very well-made. There is some weight to it, but I would expect that with a 4 hp motor! The switches are all solidly mounted. It comes with a spare air filter. The filter is very easy to get to - just turn the knob on the back of it and the bolt that holds the cover on comes off easily. Since I will be using the dryer in a clean environment and before I cut the dog's hair, I don't expect the filter will need to be cleaned that much - but it is easy enough to get to that it won't be a big deal. It has three heat settings - no heat, low and high. I only used the low setting the first time I tried it so it would not get too hot on the dog. Later I put it on the high heat setting for a while and it definitely got warmer, but not too much. I think as long as I keep the air flow moving and not concentrate on one spot, the higher setting will be fine. The air flow (or the strength of the wind?) is adjustable with a dial that gradually increases the force as you turn it up. I used the lowest setting on my dog and there was plenty of air. I couldn't believe how fast it dried my dog! Granted, at 9 weeks she is not very big, but it was less than 5 minutes. When I first started looking at dryers I didn't think I would spend this much money on one. I am just grooming my own dog. The more I researched, the better this one sounded. I am very pleased with the purchase and would definitely buy this dryer again. I have always been of the opinion that if you pay for quality you are never sorry.

5 stars! You pay for what you get!
I just received the flying pig today (pink) & we used it on our labradoodle after her bath. We had bought a cheaper generic one (blue) off amazon for $79 over a year ago it has never really worked that well from the get go. For one the nozzle attachment adapter broke off and we could never use it. When we tried to fix it, it made a extremely high pitch sound that scared our pup. So we just used the hose without the attachment. Secondly, even though we tried to change it and return it to the dealer, we never actually heard from them nor did they send us a replacement. We just kept it and used it as we only bathed her in between a 6 weeks grooming session. However with covid, we had to bath her more often ourselves so we finally decided to pull the trigger to get the flying pig! And Iโd recommend it 100% even though itโs double the cost! Here is a list why! - more powerful - speed control is more accurate - quieter and smooth sounding - heat isnโt too hot for your loved pet - better built, hose and attachments actually work and feel sturdy - hose is longer as you can see in the pictures - longer power cord, so you donโt need to use another extension cord Only regret is that I didnโt buy this sooner!

Good little dryer
I needed to replace a more powerful dryer and was looking for a better price. I had heard lots of positive comments on grooming social media about this dryer. As it was less than half the price of my previous dryer, I gave it a try. Some of the features were very strange compared to what I was used to. The hose retracts considerably when not in use. There is a hard plastic cuff near the nozzle. The filter cover screws on. The nozzle is hard plastic instead of flexible rubber. The nozzle can pop off of you hold it close to coat. Now that I have used it for many weeks, here is my review. I prefer that the hose retracts as I used to have to hang the hose on the wall, now I donโt. The hard cuff is comfortable to hold and doesnโt heat up or pinch your hand. The filter cover never pops off and is super easy to remove and clean. The hard plastic nozzle discourages aggressive dogs from biting the end of the nozzle. It took about a week to get used to the clip on the end of the nozzle and I no longer have issues with it popping off. Also, there is no metal clamp on the nozzle that I used to deal with. It also has three heat (no heat and low or high heat) levels and adjustable velocity. My only wish would be more velocity on high setting. I will look to see if they make a higher velocity if I need another, but I use this on all sizes and breeds of dogs and it does a good job of drying.

Great for home use
I'm a mobile dog groomer. After 10 years of use, my double k 2000xl stopped working. I needed a replacement fast. The double k is on back order so I had to find a different dryer. After reading reviews and checking specs, I decided to try the flying pig. I am limited to dryers that have a max amp draw of 12. This dryer fits that as long as I don't use the heat on the higher setting. I like that the motor is pretty quiet. Most of the noise comes from the concentrated air against the dog's fur. There's no way around that. But the motor itself is relatively quiet. The hose is fairly ergonomic. I like the heat option for final fluffing and straightening of coats. I love that the speed dials down so soft that I can dry dogs' heads and necks without upsetting them. Overall I can't say many negative things about the dryer. It's not really strong enough for professional use. It's pretty powerful and I think most dog owners will be happy with it for home use. It does have decent sheeting action of the surface water on the coat. It does blow out some undercoat It will dry the dog to the touch in a relatively short amount of time. For professional use, it falls a bit short. A golden retriever who usually takes me 1.5 hours to groom all the way through, took me 2 hours (1.5 hours just to bathe and dry) to complete the groom. There wasn't as big a mess from the undercoat as I get with there double k. That's a substantial difference when you have another appointment waiting. I estimate a doodle is going to take 3 hours instead of the usual 2. It's longer than I like to have the dogs stand for drying. Mobile grooming has some challenges that salons don't. One of those challenges is humidity and air flow. So this might dry faster in a salon setting. For my purposes, it's not powerful enough to be efficient. I do think it's great for home use where you don't necessarily have to get the coat bone dry to the skin. It's just not up to the needs of mobile grooming for the large, heavy coated breeds. I will keep this as a back up for the double coats and will use it for the small and medium dogs or the larger dogs that are afraid of the dryer. The adjustable speed makes it versatile. It's infinitely better than using a hand-held human hair dryer.

Should buy!
Good quality, easy to use. No that noisy. It always makes sound but it is not unbearable.

The best dog dryer for grooming your own pet
It work just as well as a professional groomer tool. Itโs not real noisy, lightweight and has a no heat option which is great for my hairy Shepard. It shakes out his undercoat without brushing and drys his off very well. It has heat regulation options in case heat is not needed. This was a lifesaver. Bathing a large hairy dog with anxiety issues is no small task and this saves me time and energy and itโs over quickly. I recommend this to anyone in need of assistance in getting their pet groomed efficiently and want to do it themselves.

Excellent!! All the positive reviews have proven true. Worth it!!
Did my due diligence on choosing a dryer because of the investment price. This dryer was recommended by multiple dog groomers on youtube as an excellent choice for home use. I can attest to the excellent quality of unit, the hose is sturdy and pliable, and attachments are great. Noise level is in accordance with the power of dryer. I use the dryer in a medium sized bathroom, and when using the highest settings it can be loud, but not acceptable or unexpected. My two large poodles look awesome after using this dryer. Both dogs have been professionally groomed and are used to the process. Therefore they were okay with this dryer's sound, heat, and high air flow. Purchased the pink version mid November 2023 and the price I paid was better than Black Friday deals. Bonus - it arrived earlier than expected. All around positive experience. Highly recommend - solid choice!! Stop procrastinating like I did - you and your dog(s) will benefit from having this dryer.

Works Wonderfully
Used anxiety hoodie as she doesnโt like loud noises. Worked beautifully- could see water being blown off her. Came out dry and fluffy. Seems to be quieter than my own blow dryer.

Awesome power and not too loud.
We were replacing an older metrovac that finally died. This one is easily as good, and a little less money. It does an amazing job even on our German shepherd. Is variable speed so can easily do small dogs too. Seems sturdy and good quality, so I expect no problems, but, time will tell.
