Good replacement if your original cracks
I should have known better than to run cold water into hot off the stove borosilicate beaker. Even so it just cracked and leaked slowly rather than shattering.

Makes the very best espresso
Replacement fits my Yama vacuum coffee pot from years ago, perfectly. I brew Gavina espresso (https://www.amazon.com/Gavina-Espresso-Ground-Coffee-Bricks/dp/B08QS7JQHT/ref=sr_1_6_pp?sr=8-6) in it, and it is my favorite coffee. Rich and with no bitterness, smooth as velvet. The old drip coffee-maker has gone into storage for emergency use in case I break this pot again. This pot doesn't like propane burners! So I use a heat diffusion plate under it. great coffee, fragile top beaker
I have used this pot for three years and it makes great coffee and I love the "science" look involved. that being said the top beaker is very fragile, a gentle tap on the top edge of it makes for a sad coffee morning. never the less this is my third time purchasing a replacement beaker. I have to admit that each time it broke it was my own fault...my double surgery hands are pretty clumsy.

Perfect Replacement
It is identical to the original pot. I blew mine up when I got distracted while checking the mail and dry boiled it into oblivion. This one arrived quickly and was packed very well. I was back to making amazing coffee within days.

Bad batch from the factory?
A crack developed in the siphon tube of my Yama 20oz coffee maker (which was a couple of years old), so I ordered this replacement. The glass bowl shattered the first time I used it. I got a refund and ordered another. It broke within a week when I was stirring the brew after it had risen into the top. I barely touched the glass with the spoon. The glass seems to be incredibly fragile now. I love the the 5-cup Yama pot, but I'm not going to bother with another one, as the top bowl will likely break within a week. I've gone back to my 8-cup Yama pot, which is over 5 years old but still going strong and not fragile at all.

My husband loves his coffee
I bought a Swedish coffee maker for my husband years ago. He now loves his coffee, and has to have it every morning. We have had to buy three or four of these things as they break on a bet. There is no warning, the stem just breaks. I know that the design means that the stem is the most fragile part of the whole thing, but it is a bother to replace. I do think that the price needs to drop based on the fact that the top glass is so easily broken. Or, perhaps, offer a set of two for a lesser price than if purchased individually. Anywho- in order for my husband to make the coffee he so deeply loves, he needs the top glass. I keep getting them as they break, but as far as that goes, if it makes coffee that my husband enjoys, I'll keep buying.

Replace only what you’ve broke!
I’ve broke 3 of these in the last 20 years. Usually by the time I accidentally drop it, the silicone gasket on the bottom is tired anyway and doesn’t fit as well. It’s nice that you don’t need to buy the whole setup

The coffee is great. The siphon stem not so much.
Since 2014 I have been using the Siphon Coffee process and loving the coffee. Unfortunately in the last two months I have had to replace two siphons because the stem has cracked. There is nothing in the plastic base of the stem that should cause this crack. There are two plastic straws used to keep the stem from wobbling all over the place that have also been used since 2014 without causing a problem. The water temp is under 190ºF so this has not been an issue. Other occasions I have caused the bowl to break due to poor handling, and once when the stem bumped the edge of the sink it cracked. I still have that siphon as a spare. But two in two months with no varriation in the preparation process is beyond anything normal. The process is done on a standard cooktop over the last 11 years. Go figure.
