3 months and worn out, poor.
Firstly as a low rise fan of hiking shoes i was reluctant to buy these, as i was of the mind set that boots are restrictive..Not the case with these, the upper is so flexible it literally feels like your wearing low rise shoes!Comfort! Best i have ever had! With a dodgy ankle after hundreds of miles in a pair of mirrels, i thought these would help support it, nit only do they do that due to the comfort, they literally allow me to carry on hiking even with a dodgy ankle! Thats just how good these are!Grip, when brand new out of the box they were a little slippy on wet ground but after 20 miles when the souls were roughed up, awesome! They grip like no other! Will they last tho, i normally wear the grip off straight away due to poor quality rubber on your average hiking boots, we shall see with these in time.I know about the side splitting for some reading the other reviews, i will update this review after i have put 1000 miles on them to convey my findings with you all:-)Well after 500 miles they give up the ghost folks, hole wore through the little toe area on shoe box section, the soul has worn right down in the centre too witch i can feel when walking, all be it a spectacular comfy pair of hiking boots, poor design in manufacturing leaves them lacking, they lasted me 3 months of average to mid miles hiking... shame as i really liked them too. They were semi water proof in the beginning but that failed after time, and with the new hole thats accrued i’d say water proof is wishful thinking...lolIf your going on a trek and you want comfort with a hundred or so miles to do, they may be worth it for something like that.

NOT WATERPROOF
These boots are very comfortable and although the sole isn’t vibram, the sole still feels very durable with lots of grip and tread. However, the sole (pun intended) reason for purchasing these boots were because they claim to be waterproof which they are not!I’ve had these boots for around 3-4 days and on the first day it rained, the boots let water in, so disappointed. Contacted Amazon for a replacement but they were only able to offer a re funds upon return. Such a shame, big disappointment. Should have just paid the extra and ordered Scarpa in the first place.

Very light,very comfortable,superb quality.
I have always just purchased cheaper brands of trainers and hiking boots etc until now. Having been advised by a friend just how great Salomon boots are, I finally took the plunge and spent more money on a pair of Salomon's. These boots have opened my eyes to why you should spend more money on footwear. These boots are so light weight ! They fit so well, and they do not rub at all. The comfort is amazing and I can walk so much further in so much more comfort. Done a few 10 mile walks across countryside so far and no aches, no blisters and no discomfort. It's like walking on air and the quality is clearly there in these superb boots. I've immediately purchased another 2 pairs of Salomon's whilst on offer. I recommend also a good pair of Marino wool walking socks, which although expensive, just add to the comfort if you walk a lot and also stop your feet sweating as they will in cheap ordinary socks. These boots will last well and are waterproof. Highly recommended.

Saved my life... kinda!
Me and a friend seriously underestimated a very long walk and ended up at our destination at midnight. We then had to head all the way back to the place we were staying. Though my legs were close to falling off, my feet were kept warm, safe from water and had very little blistering (the walk was 25 hours with some short breaks in a very mountainous and rocky area). 100% Worth it. Also, they were intact by the end of it all (I wasn't XD).

They fit well, comfortable, lightweight and waterproof.
I read many reviews on these and their were a few people who gave them a bad review. I've had several pairs of hiking boots and these are the best ones i have owned. Before i used them outdoors, i handed washed them with Grangers waterproof apparel which i use on all my waterproof clothing also sprayed them with Grangers water repellant.I took my dog out for a walk during the last few days of the Storm Dennis we have had and i had no rain coming through the boots, i've walked through puddles no problems at all. They are light weight and really comfortable to wear. Highly recommended.

Not suitable for use in wet weather
The boots are very light and immensely comfortable even with the standard footbed, but they are not waterproof at all, even across wet mown grass when new. Having bought two pairs at the same time, the pair used exclusively for use in generally dry weather and dry alpine snow are lasting well, but the pair used in normal UK weather soon failed after a few months of moderate daily dog walking. The upper split on both boots at the flex point where the upper has a thin synthetic insert and much of the stitching is failing throughout the boot. In conclusion, they are excellent for purely dry conditions and dry alpine snow, but not suitable for wet British walks on easy footpaths.

Unmatched comfort
Without question, the best hiking boots I've ever owned. I've tried Karrimor, Merrells, Keen and Hi-Tec and while I've had some decent pairs from all those brands (and some not so decent pairs. Looking at you Karrimor) these are already the best pair of hiking boots I've ever owned and I've only worn them for one hike so far. They were unbelievably comfortable, more so than any other footwear I have ever owned, their grip was brilliant and they survived a sudden rain shower without any leakage to my socks and feet. I even did this hike as a way of "breaking them in" after only doing a couple of miles in them the day before. The venue was Helvellyn in the lake district and the weather was wet.I can't speak to the longevity of these boots yet but in terms of comfort and suitability, these are unmatched by any other boot I've owned.
