Fired Shrinkage is 12% and Water Absorption is 1% when fired to cone 10. A deep brown/black clay, medium in texture. Great for the wheel. Needs lots of oxygen during the bisque firing to avoid bloating in the glaze firing.

Threw very easily.
This is my first hi-fire clay. I have been using lo-fire. This cone 10 clay threw very easily and the walls held up well. The picture is just after coming off the wheel.

It's very good clay
I needed this clay to smelt iron. It served its purpose very well. It is very smooth in the hand, no contaminants as far as I can tell.

Good clay and good price
The clay is very easy to work with and I would defiantly recommend this clay to anyone I bought 50 pounds so I’ll be able to make a lot of sculptures and the package arrived faster than when it was estimated to arrive.

clay did not fire well
I rarely use cone 10 clay except when I'm using porcelain I like clays from Aurora and have used othersthe consistency of this black or dark brown clay is usable and I handbuild most things but the CLay was bisqued to 04 then fired to cone 10 mugs had underglazes on and cone 6 glazes all glazes came out dark no color clay slumped in places shrunk a bit tooIt might have done better at a lower firing
