Freestyle Freedom Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System

I am all about accuracy and after Europeans tested 50 glucometers, this one was either top of the list for accuracy or very close to the top. I find it to be consistent with the A1c readings when I use an application to record my blood glucose every day and convert the units. It also works with a small blood sample and holds a good amount of data. I use an app to record daily readings so I don't really need the glucometer to have much memory. One other small thing - you can partially push a test strip into the slot on the glucometer until you have your blood sample ready. The push the strip the rest of the way, wait for the screen to display it's ready for testing and go ahead. The price is right (insurance will not pay for it). This meter does not need to be calibrated. Also it displays glucose readings for a good amount of time to allow me to make a note of them on my computer. My last one of these lasted me 10 years although 2-3 years is recommended so I renewed it. I think enzymes in the meter start to dry up after 2-3 years. I will not be buying a different meter anytime soon. I get the strips from my insurance and I only measure once a day in AM (fasting).

Good quality, I love the large display. It arrived sooner than expected.

Big for easy reading. I already have an older version of this easy to use monitor. I had the test strips for this model so that’s why I purchased it. So glad I didn’t have to start all over with another brand as I am used to this one. Works great!

Freestyle is most reliable

The only complaint would be, in the photo description it showed the original lancer. That photo was what encouraged my purchase. The actual lancer included doesn't not perform as well.

Hi getting older began to realize how important and difficult it can be. Trying to stay healthy. Testing for glucose can literally save your life in the short and long term. My brother had diabetes and used these test strips with the appropriate electronic testing device to monitor his glucose. It’s a more secure feeling and piece of mind. Thank you so much

I love the idea of less failed tests, as I don't like to poke my finger more than once. With other types of strips, I find that there are errors and because my blood coagulates so quickly I have to poke my finger a second time. Thank you so much for creating a strip that works the first time every time!
