another buy and forget type purchase...

I bought this item after my recent laptop clean up. During opening the laptop, some screws got striped so I needed to replace them. This looked a nice assortment so I bought it.The item is compact and the storage box is a handy bonus. Besides different sizes don't mix with each other while shaking in the box so it is a good one. It has 8 varieties of screws or screw like stuff so it is unlikely that you will not find what you are looking for in this set ever. However, upon close examination, I saw that the two main sizes that were found most abundantly in laptops are only ten each. They are the ones most likely you will ever need, and one set is not enough to replace the screws of a single laptop. So, in theory you buy a set of 68 but in practice you buy a set of 20 or something like that unless you are a computer technician or a hardcore enthusiast. It will be something I use once in a while and then forget for the rest of the time (in that case you may find all pieces of the assortment useful but yet again will probably complain about the low numbers per piece)Besides the screws are silver colored while laptop screws are almost exclusively black. So the one you change will stand out.I would like it better if it was offering minimum double the amount from at least the major sizes. I am sure adding another 10-20 screws would not change the total cost and make an almost $7 purchase a better value for money. If you are only after some reserve laptop screws just pillage it from a dead laptop or another similar electronic device instead of buying this. But you may still find it a useful purchase for a piece of mind to keep in your toolbox and forget until the next time you need it.

Perfect Kit

for the computer techs this is a good deal but you better either buy in bulk or get a kit with higher quanities because there is not enough screws jumpers or standoffs in this kit you are provided with only enough screw standoffs for one computer and the do not fit all cases (not long enough) there is six plastic snap in stand offs which work great if you happen to have a case that does not line up will with the screw mounts on the motherboard sick those in the hole on the motherboard it wont keep the board still like a screw but does prevent the board fromm bending down due to no support. I had tons of jumpers i added to this kit that i pulled from several old non working computers hard drives and Disc Drives. This is a basic kit providing you with more than enough to build 1 solid computer maybe 2 or 3 (minus the stand offs) but im not sure i got this kit just so i have screws when i need them i didnt use them completely to build any computers

Good Kit, Just Not Small Enough for Laptops

I needed tiny screws for a hard drive enclosure (caddy) for a laptop. I had no idea how to figure out exactly what type of screws they are, so I ordered this hoping some would fit. Unfortunately they are all too big for my needs. It would cost more than the product itself to return it, so I'm keeping it in case I ever need it in the future. The case closes very securely, in fact it was hard to open at first. Anyone who needs spare screws for regular desktop computers and such would probably be very happy with this kit, especially for the price.

My fingernails still hurt!

So I needed some thin threaded screws for a new SSD I had ordered. Somehow I couldn't find my mess of screws anywhere and ordered these. A couple of days later these arrived. The box this comes in is some sort of toy made by the devil. The snap design is next to impossible to open. After a good 15 minutes of working at it and nearly tearing my fingernail off it finally opened and I could safely mount my new SSD.The hardware inside are your standard quality computer screws, nothing exciting here.My fingernails bled for about 2 hours and hurt terribly for about a week afterward.

Be careful!

What you see is what you get. I will say that the plastic case is slightly difficult to open (on the flip side this sucker latches very well and I don't think I will ever have to worry about it accidentally coming open).Be careful! When I got this I noticed small brass shavings inside (looks like they came from the brass standoffs). It really isn't a problem as long as you make sure to blow off any parts before you use them. Electronics tend to not like small metal shavings floating around :-)

It's a bunch of screws

It's just what it looks like in the pictures. It's nice that everything is compartmentalized. I docked it for including those plastic push-pin style motherboard standoffs - nobody really uses them, right? Serious grounding issues, and they're near impossible to get back out of the board. Still, you don't have to use them. The fact that jumpers are included is nice, but motherboards nowadays tend to use jumpers that you don't really want to remove, unless you're clearing CMOS or something. All the same, having extras is appreciated.

Neccessary IT screws, bolts & nuts

Not only do I perform all of my own computer upgrades and repairs, but changing out components require little screws that sometimes don't come with upgrades when you buy them. These little fasteners are not the kind you find among your bucket or can of various nuts and bolts, so its good to have a bunch of them when you need them. And being in their own little case makes life easier.

The variety is too varied?

I feel like there were a ton of screws in there that as a Computer Repair guy I just simply do not need anymore, and some screws that are necessary that just were not present. Maybe I'm picky, but where's the thumb screws?
