highly recommend!
Superior quality dog food! Easy to manage and very flexible, simply add warm water or broth and your dog's favorite protein. My girl loves it! We've shared it with many of her furry friends, and now they use it and love it too! It's healthy, natural, virtually no odor, and it must taste great (she and her friends are quite fussy eaters)

My dogs love it. Even my picky pooch!
I have had great success using Grandma Lucy’s products. I have fed my dogs both the chicken and the pork recipes. I am using the Pre Mic fruit and veggies now. I am feeding strictly a raw diet and to give the dogs some fruit and vegetables with their meat is great! The Pre-Mix is very cost effective to buy and it helps me to stretch the meat out. I’ve noticed that the dogs’ coats look great too. Even my very picky eater likes Grandma Lucy’s. I can definitely recommend it!

Tasty choice
My puppies love this and salivate like crazy when I grab this bag and start making their bowls. My puppies give it 2 duke claws up.

Good alternative/but we mix it with another healthy dried dog food
The good thing is what this dog food doesn't have in it. The bad is that it has an over supply of potato flakes in it (for me at least) to make it worth the big price. Unfortunately, some of these dried dog foods are very expensive. We like Dr. Harvey's Miracle dog food which has whole dried veggies, etc. Here's what you need to know if you've never purchased this dogfood and are looking to prolong your dog's life. Grandma Lucy's usually contains dried meat right in it, unless you specifically buy one that does not contain meat. Dr. Harvey's doesn't contain meat, and has more whole veggies dried and other health specific ingredients. Dr. Lucy's contains vitamins. So, what you need to know is that it's a trade off - Lucy's dried meat/veggies/vitamins and Dr. Harveys, no meat and dried whole veggies, plus. So, we mix them both together (both no meat brands) so our pet will get everything, and then we add some oatmeal to make it last longer (not too much though cause they have oatmeal in them already), then we add a fair amount of olive oil which will help the dry skin. The best thing is to add a tiny bit of "fresh" protein to the top once in a while since especially older dogs need some energy. We don't want too much protein since that's not good for some other dog issues though. Our dog is 13 and had bladder stones removed. He has done fine on this mixture and goes to the bathroom pretty much three times a day on it. He was on bladder stone food and he was itching like crazy, big waste of money. It was very low on protein. We've been winging it, and this seems to be okay. Happy pretty black lab/border collie mix. If you have any bladder issues with your dog, we do not recommend :Purina One, since this is what our dog ate for years and had the stones, lots of them. Wonder if in some of these food they grind up the animal bones with the meat and call it calcium since our poor buddy had tones of stones. Don't know if there is a correlation or not. You be the judge. If your dog ever starts losing his fur don't avoid the vet, it could be a yeast infection which can be caused from a flea alergy. Use Triflexis to deflect heartworm, fleas, etc. by treating it at the root, and don't be afraid of antibiotics since they need them to kill the infection but they need antifungal to kill the yeast, not too much antifungal though, better to control the diet and stop the yeast that way. Yeast like grains so you wouldn't use the above food just regular dog food but not Blue - it's bad for animals. Find out first if it's a yeast infection or an alergy that makes your dog lose fur, then treat it. Treating a yeast infection with alergy remedies obviously don't work and both make a dog lose fur. Hope this helps someone.

Its okay
My Labrador seems to love it and it does have a good smell to it. My only complaint is there are to few vegetables and to MANY potato flakes. Instant mashed potatos are not proper dog food. Please decrease the potato and increase the vegetables.

Easy to add to dry kibble with water
I love giving my dogs human grade supplemental food like potatoes, bananas, carrots and berries. This makes it easy to portion at meal time and control calories. And because it absorbs water quickly, it’s ready to stir and feed immediately. All three of my dogs like it, it’s easy to store in the resealable package, and it has a completely neutral scent to my nose, though the dogs can smell it across the house. It’s also a good way to know my dogs are getting water with their meal. This is a wonderfully economical alternative to brand like Farmers Dog which would be close to $600 a month if I ordered for my pack. 5 stars!

artisan dog food for the connoisseur's palate!
Okay, say what you will, but I'm not one of those people who feeds pets organic, expensive foods...I save those for myself...and now for the big BUT ...I spend a little extra on pet foods because it helps with general overall health, smell, and pooping (sorry to be blunt). I was feeding Daisy, my big lab mix (she's about 90 lbs) a higher end brand of kibble, plus she got to lick a plate here and there. She is a happy rescue dog who had been neglected and she really loves her food, although I noticed that she would graze on her 2 cups of kibble a day-she was not terribly interested but hunger always trumps boredom...I also noticed a couple of months ago that she was yelping every now and again with what I understand now is arthritis like symptoms. I researched a kibble-less existence and thought I would try grandma lucy's artisan mix. It's full of freeze dried fruits, vegs and even some flaxmeal. I got a small $20 bag to try-it lasted almost a month. I add meat, which actually I don't buy special...It's left over from my meals, and I add an egg...she seems to be thriving. Her coat is soft, her eyes are bright, the poops are smaller (healthy amounts as opposed to lots every day) and her back and hips aren't bothering her. She's running and playing and is regaining her svelte girlish figure. I'm pleased so far! Yay us!

Good price, healthy, quick and easy to prepare
I mix it with my rescue chihuahua’s canned meat food (about 2/3 wet food and 1/3 of this), and he is looking so much healthier and slimmer than when I first adopted him. He also seems to love the taste, but he will eat anything, including garbage he finds on the ground, so I have no idea if it would appeal to dogs with a more refined palate. I like that the ingredients are recognizable and mostly just veggies.
