is it the same as a ct1?

I believe that they are but they do not say on the cell. What is more important is the model number of your device and if it says they will fit that device. If you look on the internet the CT2 and CT1 are used interchangably. Hope this helps.

Will it work in braun 4507 gas curling iron? needs energy cell gcc3, gcc4 or gcc50

Not familiar with Braun 4507 .. the CT2 cell fits my Braun Cordless Styler type 3589. The package does say "Fits Braun Cordless Stylers Guaranteed." Hope this helps.

I have a 3589, any thoughts about fit?

if the item you have was made for ct1 -- ct2 will not fit. I have one(item) that must have be ct1 ct2 does not work. You can't return the item by mail.

Will this refill fit the Braun Type 3587 curling iron? org refill shows to be a 4542303-00 energy cell.

I don't know the model number on my curling iron but the new refills work fine. Original cartridge was #4542185-01. The new package says "Fits Braun Cordless Stylers Guaranteed" .... hope it works for you.
