Really pleased with this duo. I didn’t especially need the long pink tape measure but it’s fine. I have an old cracked version from the 1980s which could probably go into retirement. The pink tape is quick thick and good for measuring larger items. The retractable tape measure is very useful. I find it much easier to use and store a retractable tape measure as it’s very tidy and convenient to pop in a bag or pocket if you need to take it out and about. The tape inside this is much thinner and extremely flexible, almost like a plastic ribbon. As you pull the tape out it clicks after approximately every inch that’s emerged from its little hiding place. As it clicks it holds the tape in place and stops it from retracting. If you don’t want it to click loads, just hold on the retraction button until you want it to stay in place, then let go and it’ll hold it. You get 150cm worth of tape in the retractable tape measure. If you flip it over you have 60 inches of measuring pleasure. When you’ve finished measuring, press the button and the whole tape will whip itself tidily back into its housing. I think it’s always best to hold the tab on the end of the tape to avoid any tangles from it retracting too quickly. Hopefully it’ll stand the test of time and I’ll be very content :)
