I replaced the original drain plug on my Force 5 sailboat with this plug and it works great. No leaks and the fitting conforms to the transom better than the OEM part.The screw holes on the new fitting were wider than the original fitting so I had to seal the old screw holes with Marine Tex epoxy and drill new ones for the new fitting. To install, I just fit the plug flange into the drain through-hull and used a pencil to mark the holes I needed to drill. Then, I used a punch to make an indent on each mark so I could drill pilot holes. After that, I sealed the plug by adding marine-grade silicone into the new screw holes and under the plug flange Finally, I screwed the new fitting into place and let the silicone cure.The whole replacement took me about an hour which includes the time it took for the Marine-Tex to cure.I took my boat sailing the following weekend and the new plug proved to be watertight.

there's no way to tie the cap to the outlet. That's a disaster waiting to happen. Also, the tangs on the cap are way too long and stick out beyond the hull of the boat. They are just going to get quickly broken off. Otherwise it is well made and works.
