The Black Truffle Oil is a little more pungent than the Cooks & Co White Truffle Oil and is better suited to meats and heavy sauces. The black truffle or black Périgord truffle (Tuber melanosporum), is named after the Périgord region in France and grows with oak and hazelnut trees. Black truffles are harvested in late autumn and winter and are used to refine the taste of meat, fish, soups and risotto.
