when i was just starting out this was the perfect book . teaches you from beginning to end on multiples styles of bread and also helps when you may have failed a starter and just need a little bit of guidance.

This is a wonderful book for any age group. My grandson who is 13 is on day one of making sourdough starter. The directions are easy to read and understand.The jar for the starter is rather large.This book has great sourdough recipes.He did need some direction but remained enthusiastic.The book is perfect for someone who’s just starting the journey of baking with sourdough..

I flipped through this book to see what it was like and I like what I saw: very detailed explanations and instructions and good recipes. I’m looking forward to using many of these recipes.I knocked 1 star off because there were a couple recipes that weren’t true sourdough, using baking soda/powder in addition to starter. I like the purity of 100% sourdough and long ferments. Probably this is not a hangup for most people.

This is a very informative book. Written very well and easy to follow as well. I did give this (and some starter) as a gift to my neighbor! Sounds like she is loving it so far!

Beware she follows a no discard starter recipe. I wouldn’t recommend this type if you are starting out. I’ll give her an extra star because a lot of good bread recipes
