They can be stubborn on occasion if you persevere with trying to lift a corner and peeling off, or you could try steaming the plastic film with your kettle. My oven heats to 480°. Can I still use this stone?

If the oven's temperature falls short of the required 550 Fahrenheit, don't worry! You can place the stone on a gas or electric stove at medium to high heat for 30 to 40 minutes or under the broiler for 40 minutes. The stone should be kept close to the heating element to achieve the desired temperature, and full instructions are provided with the set. Alternatively, consider heating the rock with a BBQ or pizza oven, ensuring it is adequately heated by performing a simple check. Drop a teaspoon of water on the stone's centre. If heated correctly, it will immediately sizzle and begin to evaporate. Further heating is required if it sizzles for just a few seconds. Note that heating in the oven is achieved by placing it in a cold oven and heating it to 550F-580 Fahrenheit for 60 minutes.
