Sunnyside 63432 2-Minute Remover Advanced Paint & Varnish Remover Gel, Quart

I was nervous about the 1 star reviews because honestly I’ve never stripped paint before. Our cement porch has old paint on it that’s worn from high traffic over a decade. I didn’t paint it so I had no idea if it was durable paint or epoxy. Put a thin layer on and waited and it did very little. Thought oh no doesn’t work. Tried again but poured it on very thick, it started rising before my eyes. Used a paint scrapper for a wooden house and it took very little off because of the grain in the cement. Sent my husband to buy a wire bristle brush and that did WONDERS! Lots of elbow grease but it took off every single bit!! Not an easy job but got the job done.

I used it as soon as it arrived. I’ve been wanting to have my hardwood floors refinished for the longest time with no luck finding responsible so called pros to do the job! I think lm a lucky gal since doing lots of research l’ve been able to find very effective products on Amazon to improve my floors. The one area l had to really take on was in my dressing room where there were small splattering of paint that l couldn’t seem to remove no matter what! Hoping for the best decided to order the 2 minute paint & varnish remover gel. Well, it worked so well that lm ordering the gallon size to clean up my bathroom & any other areas where ever needed.. I’ve spent money doing DIY projects but nothing in comparison to what l would’ve spent paying a contractor. I’m happy with my hardwood floors.

Not worth it I’ve spent the last three hours trying to get old paint off of a solid body electric guitar. I’ve waited two minutes. I’ve waited five minutes. I’ve waited up to an hour after putting a heavy coat on. I scrape and scrape and paint does not come off. All it did was remove the sheen waste of money.

Was at my wits end trying to uncover a countertop that the previous owners had painted over. This helped me do that. The smell wasn’t too bad, worked pretty quickly, poured out not too thin which was nice. Had to do a lot of scraping it took off probably about 3 layers of paint revealing a nice countertop.

It is next to near impossible to find any type of paint remover with methylene chloride in it thanks to the EPA banning it. This is not nearly as powerful but it does the job, you just need more than one coat. I used this to strip paint off of an old wooden dresser and it ended up taking half a quart to strip one layer. Make sure you're in a well-ventilated area when using it because the smell is toxic, bonus points if you wear safety glasses to protect your eyes just in case anything were to splash on them. It has a it's almost snot like consistency so that way it clings to any surface. Overall if you're needing it for a small project I would recommend it but If you were trying to strip paint off of a boat or any other larger object this will not cut it

Not as efficient as expected. I used half the container just for an end table. Still needed to scrape hard.

I bought a house recently the former owner built himself. The ceiling (upper left corner of photo) and most of the walls are wood. However someone painted the stair rails and trim in a flat dark rust color. I don't like it. I decided to strip and go back to the natural wood. It will compliment the not bright green much better. This stripper works great! I didn't notice it smelling that bad. You do only have a couple of minutes before you need to start scraping it off or it dries up. I used a dry paper towel first and then went over it with a clean damp rag. I think I will also use a wire brush going forward because there is still some paint in some crevices but that is not the fault of the stripper. That being said there is only one coat of paint on those. I am also stripping a chair someone painted in multiple coats of red paint I found in the garage I am stripping as well. You will have to probably do multiple applications to get through thick paint but you would with any stripper. The chair is after two applications on the back and seat. Very pleased.
