this is the fourth time we've ordered this part in two years. they last just a few months. thankfully they're easy to install.

Defrost Heating Element Lifespan
I give this a four star since it lasted almost 16 months. I wanted to review this when it broke so that day is today. I always buy two so I always have a spare. I suggest you guys do the same as they do go out after some time. The shortest time I had to replace this part was four months. By far, this company makes the best one besides spending a couple hundred bucks for a GE one that will fail due to a design flaw from GE. I must admit, GE has gone downhill on their appliances. Do beware. The forst couple cycles ommits a very very bad smell due to poor plastic used for the heating element. Other than that. It works. Cheers.

Good fit for GE fridge
Parts works good. Fit was perfect no issues.

I'm sure most are good but the one I got was total junk and a fire hazard.
When I'm at the BBQ joint I really love getting burnt ends. When I'm working with the defrost heater in my fridge, not so much. I installed this new heater and withing 12 hours my fridge stank like burning electronics. Didn't take long to find out it was this brand new heater. I ordered the OEM one from GE and its all good. Two pics of the new heater next to the original GE one and then a close up of the burnt ends on the one I got from Amazon. Not good. The thermostat seems find. I did not use the thermistor.
