An acquired taste
Salty licorice is a taste I acquired as a kid, but my favorite are these Lakrisal Salmiak Pastilles! I added these packs to our subscribe & save September 2023, because these pastilles are not chewy as some salty licorice can be, and they only contain a few ingredients and no gelatin: sugar, licorice extract, ammonium chloride (salmiak), and anti-caking agents. Then October 2023 USC Dornsife scholars discovered that in addition to sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami, the tongue might also detect ammonium chloride as a basic taste! Although I have to fight the urge to chew them, I also find it somewhat meditative allowing the pastilles to dissolve.

Very good!
I love the Lakrisal licorice. They're delicious, but they're on the salty side. Not good for people with high blood pressure. Just be aware of that.

Best salty licorice ever.
Lakrisal is one of my favorite candy, but it probably isn't for everyone. Unless you are Scandinavian and grew up with salmiak or salty licorice type candy you will probably hate it.

Not for me!
I love black licorice, I love salty black licorice, but this is next level and I do not like it. There is something intensely bitter that I do not like. I wouldn’t purchase these again.

Sisu up
Sisu. If you don’t like Lakrisal, you don’t have it. I Grew up on this. It’s the only candy I get all to myself at home. Everyone else gives it wide space as they walk around it, like it’s punished them previously. You simply need to be as unquestionably mentally hard as woodpecker lips to enjoy this fine treat. It’s about perspective: If you think life is hard just enjoy some of this and northern perma winter does not seem so bad anymore. I’m getting more…… again.

Salty, sweet and delicious. Even if it sounds weird.
I get strange looks when I tell people about "salty" licorice. And granted, it's an acquired taste. But this stuff is so good. I've been eating it for ever. Buy 'em. Then try one. You'll probably spit out the first one. Then try another. And another. Then you'll be hooked, like me and my kids and my grandkids.

Great voice acting tool
Terrible taste. Sort of like licking used brasso off a kick plate…not that I’ve done that, but I think this is what it would taste like. However, to reduce mouth noise and get the saliva flowing, it’s absolutely the best. I’ll keep buying. If you believe in suffering for your art, you should as well.

So tasty its all gone
I grew up with candy like this. I have a huge craving for it since its close to impossible to find in the US. I bouht from other sellers but the one that sold this is by far the best. This is salty licorice, not strawberry flavored. My wife would spit this out and go bleee if she tried it. Its not like dutch licorice. Finnish licorice is the best (Danish is too and Swedish is good too).
