Amazing product - did the job and saved me climbing a ladder
I had 2 outside flood lights about 12 feet off the ground that broke off in their sockets (caused by high winds). As these bulbs had been in place for a few years, the bases were fairly well stuck in the sockets. I already had the bulb changing pole and basket because of some high 12' ceiling bulbs in my house, so it was easy to unscrew the bulb basket and install this remover tool (it seems to be the same brand for both, same yellow color). Initially I struggled a bit, but discovered that with a bit of upward pressure and twisting, they both came out in one piece. Cost me less to buy than paying a handyman a one time fee to go up the ladder (my wife prohibits me on ladders!).

Ingenious and Effective
When the bulb in the panel light on my microwave burned out, I thought replacing it would be a snap, but when the bulb itself snapped away from the base, I realized it would be anything but. Of course, I turned to the internet for a solution to get the base out of the socket. I had tried needle nose pliers, but they just mangled the base but did nothing to make it unscrew. The internet offered a couple of solutions, one involved a potato, and the other, this Broken Bulb Changer. I looked at the item and instantly saw that it should work, and it did.. I had to take away a few layers of product to fit the tool in the space, but once I did, it fit perfectly in the appliance bulb socket. I turned counter clockwise a few times and immediately could feel the base unscrewing from the socket. A few more turns, and it was out. Excellent product!! The kit comes with a small and large extractor so should be good for any size bulb that breaks. It even has an adapter that allows you to attach it to a pole if you have to reach a socket high up. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and definitely recommend it to anyone with a similar problem.

Didn't work for my broken off bulb
Did not work in my regular socket. It was in the ceiling of my closet..so maybe it would work if it was in a regular lamp and you could get a good grip on the thing. But no go for me.

Yes, it works!
This gadget does work well. The only problem I had, was the handle was a bit too long, making it difficult to reach into the small cavity where my broken bulb was located (the under side of a wall mounted microwave, above my stove). But I managed it after a few tries. It’s a handy tool and great value for money.

Lifesaver for high up broken ceiling lights
This was a lifesaver for me. I had a light bulb break in a ceiling light while I was trying to change it. The problem was that the light was about 26 feet high...I thought I would have to hire a handyman to figure this out because I had no idea how to remove it. I have an extension pole that I use for changing bulbs and came across this broken bulb gadget. I cannot believe how well this worked to get the entire bulb out of the socket. The broken pieces did tear up the rubber end, but hey...that's still much cheaper than hiring a company to change a single light.

Works, but tricky and will shower you with glass shards.
They do work, but you had better be wearing full safety goggles, if working above your head. Usually they break off parts of the bulb, and shower you with small glass pieces. Dangerous, and could use a shield like collector attachment. Also, if the socket is angled, they only work straight in. We had to make an adapter to get into those.

This thing works great!
This is worth it's weight in gold. Worked as described. Follow simple instructions and you will get the job done. You have to supply your own pole. I used a Christmas light pole that I use to apply Christmas lighting. It is made of fiberglass, which is great because we didn't have access to the breakers.
