The Essential Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac Rm

Well crafted set from the early Mac era.I have all the albums these tracks came from, but this pretty much summarizes what I like about the era. There are a few samples of the post blues era, but notably Man Of The World is missing.The tracks are so well organized for a pleasant set, I could not do it better. There are no more than three Spencer vocals in a row. Green gets to stand out on many tracks. Danny is featured.As pointed out in many reviews the Then Play On era is not represented except with Like Crying (Danny). By all means get that CD, Danny Kirwan and Green made that album, with Spencer not represented at all. I am a fan of all the three singers and if you do like the work here, Spencer is still recording. Green had his Splinter Group, but it is mostly therapy for a casualty of the drugs of the era. Danny Kirwan no longer is in music.Beyond the tracks here, there was a 4 disc box that featured tracks from all line ups up to the present one, but it is out of print.

I was used to the Stevie Nicks, Lyndsey Buckingham Fleetwood Mac. Had always heard the original line up was an outstanding blues band but never paid much mind to it. Well let me tell you was I surprised when I heard the Peter Green Fleetwood Mac line up. Blew my mind what an outstanding catalog of music. He was an outstanding musician and a genius in my opinion.

I love this cd. If you like the blue's, I recommend this cd.

Now this is more of a comprehensive collection of early Mac - not to say the latter Mac wasn't enjoyable - just not as bluesy and raw

Yes, it would have been a sin to lose this band to yesterday. These are/were Eric Clapton level performers who really deserved a great deal more notice and acclaim. Mick and John should jump back into the blues for recording purposes. Is Danny still game?

the begining

i got this as a present for ageing rocker father-in-law he kept going on about albatross and only found out recently it was by fleetwood mac , we searched various music download sites and found this album which we were able to get many previews, after discovering he liked several tracks we decided to buy the album for his birthdaywell now he is a happy rocker and keeps this disc in his cd player, to get the true fleetwood mac experience you have to get this album its better than the best off albums
