I had rusty foot plates on my Jeep running boards. Most of the assembly was powder coated but the foot plates were just painted. After 3 years they were more rust than paint. I removed the loose paint with a putty knife and a wire brush and applied two coats of this product. After 24 hours of drying they were ready to paint. I painted the sealed surface with black matte paint and they look great. All indications are that it will be at least several years before I have to do this again.

I bought a rust-bucket old truck at Christmas time and it needs a LOT of work. I used this to treat all of the rusted areas in hopes of mitigating the damage until spring arrives. In hard to reach areas I was able to use a simple spray cleaner bottle with an adjustable nozzle, and even a lawn sprayer. But you MUST use a respirator if spraying this stuff!Of course you should wear eye protection and rubber gloves regardless of application method. And remember it's flammable! Those areas where I left it on a bit too long turned almost white but that's normal with all of these types products and everything will have to be stripped before beginning any repairs anyway.

I used this on some surface rust for the frame of my car and some outdoor furniture. A couple things to note, this isn't an instant rust converter, it takes up to 24 hours to turn into a black protective coating. That is something to keep in mind if you're planning to paint over it. It essentially means any job with paint is a two day job. I'm not sure if the process would go faster on a hotter day, but I applied on a 70 degree day and I didn't see any change to the surface rust until coming back the next day. This product isn't a benign product either, The label had lots of warnings about not letting it touch painted surfaces or get on your skin/eyes. Any place the product dripped stained the asphalt or concrete.That being said, although being slow it did convert the rust to a black surface that is holding up so far.

Purchased 2 cans but unable to get either can to mix. Nit sure if the shelf life was expired. But we shook both cans for probably up to half an hour & all that would cone out was a clear oil like spray. Not a bit of anything resembling black like the video & picture showed. Total disappointment! Got my money back at least!

I use this for truck underside prep work. The product does a good job as it describes. Some spots still required some elbow grease but that's to be expected. I recommend for light rust conversion before appropriate steps for finishing.

I used this product exactly as the instructions said, left it on overnight, but when I washed it off, instead of the advertized black finish, it looked exactly the same - rusty!I've done it four times now, heavy applications, & it finally has turned black. I'll leave it unpainted over the winter to see if rust re-develops

I used this to convert the rust and protect my year old truck. Works well.

Please read the instructions first. I didn't, because I know everything. I didn't rinse it off and painted on top of it. I had to do it all over again. But it did convert the rust after I wire brushed it. After reading the directions, it works like a charm. I do recommend sanding, after wire brushing. I was painting old, rusty milk cans for decoration. Rust Off really worked, after I read how to do it right.
