One Day at Disney: Meet the People Who Make the Magic Across the Globe (Disney Editions Deluxe)

I've avoided this book for several years thinking it was pricey fluff. But I kept coming back to it in my folder of wish list books. Now the price is nice and I'm so glad to have added it to my Disney collection, #520!Still haven't seen the video, but love this book. You can't please everyone with their profile choices but go in with an open mind and you might be surprised. Their paths to Disney and love of same are inspiring.Of course I know to many Disney is just a job and not always a happy one. Maybe they will get their book!Photos are great, albeit a tad redundant. Oh yeah, I'm not a fan of reverse type, but at least it is large.

This book is a must have for a fan of all things Disney. There are at least 80 profiles of people that work at Disney. From someone that touches up the "people" on the Pirates of the Caribbean at night to a cruise ship captain to the former CEO. Actors from ABC shows, Captain Marvel and Broadway shows. The profiles are mostly a page but there are plenty of photos to go along with it. The people profiled listed their favorite attraction or movie (The number of people that listed The Lion King as their favorite Disney movies surprised me. I assumed there would be way more variety!)The downsides are a) it is a really big and heavy book which is tough to read in bed and b) they cover things like Marvel Studios or ESPN but not a single piece of Marvel Comics.I loved this book and my teenager daughter loved it as well. An excellent idea with perfect execution!

For a die-hard Disney fan, this book will entertain for hours. Great coffee-table book for guests to enjoy while visiting. High quality pics and fun background on various attractions at the park.

Good book

This book is a great example of all the people it takes to make Disney the company that it is today. Loved reading about the people behind the scenes at the parks across the world. Could have left out the parts about ABC and ESPN. I realize these are Disney properties but those parts adding nothing to the book for me. However reading about the guy who scuba dives in the park waters at night after closing to check attractions for operating conditions etc. was fascinating. Beautiful photographs.

That is what this book is about. People all over the world, who make their living creating disney magic for millions of guests of stage shows, theme parks, cruise line and more. Actors, Animal caretakers. Cooks. Imagineers. Even some dude named Bob who runs the company. Gee. Wonder why he was included. (LOL) I suppose some might see it as a companion volume to the Documentary of the same name, but I would argue said documentary should be seen as the cliff notes version of THIS.

I’m a huge Disney fan, and in general, I’m someone who likes to “go behind the scenes”...wether it’s a walking tour in the underground tunnels at the Magic Kingdom, or how a cruise ship is built, I’m constantly fascinated by the “hidden treasures” and “hows”, so a book that showcases so many of the unsung heroes (I love Disney, so yeah, to families and kids, that’s a good word to describe these people!) was something I felt I had to have.There are some very unique people in here, such as Peter Dufour, who lowers, folds, and retires the flag of the day at the MK. People who go above and beyond their job to make vacations special. It’s pages and pages of some very unique people you may never have known existed, but deserve kudos for what they do.I did deduct a star because there are some, in my opinion, unnecessary people included in here. Bob Iger, Bree Larsen, and other celebrities are included. Sorry, but these are people with wiki and IMDB articles. They don’t need several more pages dedicated to them that could’ve gone to other people who work just as hard but make fractions less. I’ll be skipping these pages anytime I look through this book

I absolutely loved this book and it was amazing that I was able to preorder it and then get it on the day that it was released. Also, if you are a Disney+ subscriber, make sure you watch the documentary “One Day at Disney” because it really brings the stories even more to life. If you are a Disney fanatic, you gotta check this book out!

Um livro realmente dedicado a aqueles que querem saber mais sobre as pessoas que fazem a magia acontecer na Disney.

Leider war das Buch eindeutig nicht mehr neu! Nicht in Folie wäre ja ok gewesen, aber Fettfingerabdrücke und Falten am ganzen Einband zeigen, daß das Buch bereits gelesen wurde!! Als "Neu" gekauft,gebraucht bekommen geht nicht! Darum geht es zurück!

El libro es precioso.
