This product is extending our dog's quality of life, our quality of life, and as a result, it is actually extending her life. I can't recommend it highly enough.Our old beloved dog has become senile and, as a result, almost 100% incontinent (both pee and poo). But she still has other quality of life. We have had to start keeping her confined when we are out and overnight, but because of her incontinence, we often would return or wake up to find her pacing through her own poop (a real mess for her and us), and so we desperately needed *something* to help us keep her and our home clean and comfortable. Otherwise, I don't think we could have let her continue in such unsanitary conditions day in and out. Letting her go for that reason, after 15 and 1/2 years, would have been so heart-breaking.We tried disposable doggy diapers (fall off easily and opening for tail too big and lets waste out), human baby diapers with a slit we cut for her tail (better in terms of holding waste in, but can still fall off), and another specialty product I bought via Amazon that works okay (not as well) but is difficult to put on and seems less comfortable for our poor pup.This diaper works the best--perfectly, actually--and even with shipping was less expensive than the other specialty product alone *and* less expensive and wasteful/bad for the environment than using disposable diapers. It is easy to put on, comfortable for her, and hold all waste until we can remove the diaper, easily flush the waste in the toilet, and wash the diaper in the washing machine.This is our routine and it works *so* well, I can't stress that enough. My hope is that folks who are considering it will read this review and be able to keep their beloved furry kid around longer as a result of improved quality of life for all involved during this very difficult period when some people can't deal and choose to let their pup go.I just bought a second one today so that when our other is soiled and being washed, we can use the other. It is *so* worth the money for all that you and your pup will get from using it.FYI, our pup is 26 lbs and the medium is perfect. She probably could wear it comfortable if she were even 3-5 lbs heavier, but measure your pup's waist and buy the size the manufacturer suggests since waist circumference, not weight, is the most important sizing factor.

I bought the XS for my 8-1/2 lb chihuahua who is on a diuretic for congestive heart failure. The XS is exactly the right size for her! Because she has a short waist, as do most chihuahuas, I folded some excess fabric on the back side of the garment, bringing the Velcro section 2" closer to the tail opening. Then I tacked the folded fabric in three spots (sides and middle) with a needle and thread. This took all of 10 minutes, and the custom-fit diaper fit her very well around her natural waist! After seeing so much flimsy animal clothing in stores, I must say that I am very impressed with the construction of this garment. It seems to be very well made of quality materials and the stitching done well. The Velcro is SUPER strong and the adjustable tail opening ingenious! I have washed the diapers in the washing machine and hung them to dry, experiencing no problems.Regarding actual function of the garment, my dog wears it at night for now and has peed in it a couple of times. The first time, the outer diaper fabric did a great job of keeping in the moisture so that nothing leaked. The second time, the diaper was so saturated that moisture did leak out onto the bedding. Since I got these for overnight use, I will definitely now add some sort of a liner/pad for maximum absorbency. I do have a problem with my dog keeping the diaper on all night, but I don't fault the diaper at all. I put it on as snug as possible without causing discomfort, but somehow the diaper is always off in the morning with the Velcro still firmly attached. I'm going to have to put my dog in a onesie or devise something to prevent her from wiggling out of the diaper in the middle of the night.Bottom line: Despite the challenge of keeping this sturdy diaper in place all night long, I am still happy I bought it, as it has saved me from having to wash dog bedding constantly. I wish this diaper came in another color such as pink for girls, but I would definitely buy this particular diaper again if I need more!
