The loyal friend of the future
Mio Pup provides a rewarding play experience full of companionship and nurturing. Mio Pup shows exactly how he's feeling with over 100 animated "eye-cons." He'll let you know what he needs through fun expressions and sounds. He loves interaction; you can pet his head, his chin and his back and he'll respond to you, just like a real pup! Great gift for kids. Out of all the gifts this Christmas my nice loved it the most.

A waste of time and money
This toy is good for about 10 minutes. Then, as ALL of my children ( 4-12) said, "it looked like more fun on TV." It doesn't really DO anything and just babbles. I've read through the booklet it comes with several times, and yes, it really doesn't do anything. Very disappointing for a child who just had to have it for Christmas.

Cute, durable little battery eater!
This is now my $100 paperweight! My little girl loved for a whole week! She liked the box it came with more! However, it is very very very very very very very very very very talkative!

Shut this thing up!
Bought this for my niece...had to open it right away. There is no real off switch. Hold the nose for a few seconds and it'll sleep. Accidentally bump the nose and you're wanting to slam it against the wall. Of course the kids love it...lights and noise. All in all seems well made and I think the kids will have a great time with it.

Christmas gift
Got this for my 6 year old, who really wanted a robot dog from Santa. In the end she played with it only about a week and then was board that it couldn't do more.

A chatty puppy
The Mio Pup was a Christmas gift for my 7 year-old daughter. The pup makes a variety of sounds and displays various "eye" icons depending on its mood. It's mood can change if you pet it or speak to it. It walks a bit and has a bone that attaches magnetically to its mouth. After a couple of days it made a lot of sounds and displayed icons that didn't seem to be consistent; it turned out that the batteries that came with the pup needed to be replaced. These batteries were heavy-duty types, but when replaced with alkalines the pup behaved normally. My daughter specifically asked for the pup as a gift and was delighted with it initially. She studied the manual and was soon expert at discerning the pup's moods based on the sounds and icons. But it seems that it makes too much noise (just like a real pup) and she has turned the pup off. It still has a prominent place with her stuffed animals. It looks good as it is, even if it isn't moving or emoting.

Bone Loss Solution
We recently purchased a Mio Pup at the Goodwill and didn't realize that it needed the bone also. We took our aquarium fish tank magnet that is used to clean the tank and put it up to it's mouth and it stuck while the Pup started feeding. Just a quick solution to throwing away or buying a whole new unit. Any strong magnet should work. You'll know by the emocons changing from starving down to normal then gone. YOUR WELCOME!!!!!!!
