Got them for the grandson. He loves them. Nice fit, easy to put on. Great for running around in with his friends. Flexible and lightweight. Comfortable he says.

These are it! My daughter has low muscle tone and we needed shoes with great support that could also make space for her SMOs. We LOVE Billy’s! She can wear her SMOs and the Billy’s are so easy to put on. The shoe laces can stay tied and you just zip open the shoe to easily insert your toddler’s feet. I also appreciate that there are 2 inserts that you can remove to make space if needed. So far the quality seems great and a good value for the money. We bought the sparkly pink glitter shoes and they are too cute! They give millenial rose gold lol. We will likely be buying more of these!

My daughter absolutely loves these. The design is fun and fuctional for getting in and out of the shoe easily with the braces on.

These shoes are great for kids with leg braces. Or that just need a easier was to put shoes on. It does seem like the quality of the shoe has taken a hit and they used to be easy to find in my town but now I have to order them strictly thru the Billy site. So if you need a back up pair, I recommend getting two ordered at the same time. Also to order them while there is a little time left with your current shoes. Shipping can take a little bit.

It kills me that ANY shoe costs this much, especially one that has no insides. That being said, when these go on sail, they are the best AFO shoes out there! Good sizes, running slightly wide (which they should for all AFOs), otherwise on point for sizing. Kid likes them and the styles. Pretty tough for keeping up with a rough housing kid who loves sand, dirt, wear out his knees and most toes on his shoes. These have held up over 6 months plus. We do have other shoes to occaisionally trade out, but these are the main wearers.

I bought these because they were recommended by my sons orthopedic specialist since they work well with SMO braces. They definitely do work well and help to keep his feet flat on the floor. Overall the shoes fit well and are durable. I also love the back story of the company. The only reason for the four stars is because when we got them the soles were too slick and would slide on the hardwood floor. I had to sand them down by hand to fix that.

I purchased the white with rainbow laces in size 9T to fit over surestep smo braces and these shoes fit perfectly. My four year old is very petite though and I measured her feet with the braces on. She wears an 8t and has narrow/normal width feet so if your child is wide they may not zip. I went up one size because the braces have a closed heel and do add a tiny bit of length. From the manufacturer website it looks like they are working on making wide width shoes in the future. Just make sure you measure before you buy. As for the laces, I left the top hole empty and can tie them but depending on the braces you may need longer laces. One last thing... My little one will not be able to zip them up as it does take some effort, even for me. It may be a little difficult for an older child to do by themselves too, since you really have to hold the canvas together while zipping. This is my first experience with braces and finding shoes that fit so I can't compare to any other brands yet. If Billy comes out with the wide width I will definitely get those because I think it's going to be easier to get on and I wouldn't have to loosen the laces so much. For now I am so happy with these and will be buying more styles. They are really cute and seem to be made very well.

Good aesthetic appeal, horrible quality. As a parent, there is always a little heartburn buying big-ticket items for children because the useful life is so short lived with how fast growing seasons can be! The least I would expect is for these shoes to last until my son grew out of them. I bought them in May when he was 15 months old, now in July they are unusable and broken. I feel like it goes without saying - but if you are needing Billy style shoes for your child, you may have a medically complex child. The last concern you really should have at this price point for a specialty product is durability. Writing this review as a caregiver (mom) tired of adding unnecessary things to the mental load, financial burden, and to-do list. Average wear includes approximately an hour a day use over the past two months. See virtually no wear on soles. Seriously Billy’s - do better.

These are great shoes. They are a quality, durable construction. They are some of the only shoes we've found that fit with the orthotic SMO/inserts. They also look stylish enough not to stand out and draw attention if your child is self-conscious about wearing braces/SMOs/orthotics.
