I have just received the pinpointer, it was delivered as promised and in good condition. I gave it a quick test and works perfectly, sound and vibration alert. The light comes on when you turn the unit on. I ordered the black waterproof version. It came with a coiled stretch cord to attach to your wrist or belt which I wasn't expecting but really like. It stretches to around 3 feet making it easier to keep track of. If I observe anything different in the field I'll try to repost but definitely a good product.

I purchased this primarily to help me find some lot line survey pins that were buried under grass. Works fine for this as long as you have a rough idea (within a couple of feet) as to where they are supposed to be. I've not tested the water proof claim but its not something I would rely on for more than a few minutes and only in shallow water. It was not properly cushioned for shipment inside in the Amazon overpack box so it clearly bounced around a lot and the manufacturer's original package was pretty smashed upon delivery, but nothing was actually broken.

I really like this pinpointer. It may not be the loudest, but it also vibrates, so you can feel and hear the target. People complain about the lack of depth with this pinpointer but I don’t think that it’s justified. Seems to be waterproof, I’ve used it by the ocean and lakes. I would buy it again if anything happens to this one.

It's not terrible for what you're paying for it. Range is not great, and the volume absolutely sucks!

Received detector in quick manner. Put in the furnished battery. WOULD NOT WORK. Put in next furnished battery. WOULD NOT WORK. Out of curiosity, purchased a new 9 volt battery and installed same. Detector now works but will only detect if practically on top of the piece of metal.
