The Arctic Incident: Artemis Fowl, Book 2

Why did it take me 10 years to start reading these books...?
It makes me feel like I’m 15 again, reading books and ignoring everyone around me. The past few years I thought I was “bad at reading” but this series has made me change my mind. It’s not how much you read, it’s what you read

Great story, great dialogue/vocabulary, needs better editing!
My son enjoys the stories in this series and his vocabulary can’t avoid expanding due to the more cerebral content of Eoin Colfer’s dialogue! I wish, however, that the editor(s) had done a better job of eliminating the errors peppering the book. This is the reason for the loss of one star. I am not an editor, prof-reader, nor an English major. I don’t expect perfection, but I would expect to notice only one or two obvious errors in a book that was supposedly scrubbed by those being paid (presumedly good money) to do so. I stopped reading each time to explain the error (and the correction that should have been made) to my son, who was reading along with me. At least it became an opportunity to teach/learn.

Rescue Mission?
This series must be read in order. The first book is "Artemis Fowl". This is the second book. I can't wait to read "The Eternity Code"!Artemis had almost given up hoping his father would be found. How with a random demand it looks like he was right and his father is still alive. Now he just has to figure out how to get out of boarding school and how to rescue his father. Can he pull it off? Is this too much for even him at thirteen? What would life look like with two parents again? Will be be forced to give up his schemes? Or will be fail to rescue his father? Or is it all done bizarre hoax?

NOT THE GRAPHIC NOVEL VERSION!!!!!
I didn't rate this one star because this is such a wonderful series by a wonderful author. BUT this is the straight novel version, not the graphic novel version as the TITLE states. Amazon needs to be more careful with who it lets write descriptions. :}

Cross between James Bond and Harry Potter
The Artemis Fowl books are very well written, have great characters and have great plots, character development and suspense. I love the moral development of Artemis Fowl and Mulch. When I read fantasy fiction a development by the author that allows me to suspend believability - especially when it involves magical creatures and faux science is a must, and these books more than achieve that requirement. I highly recommend them to anyone who appreciates good juvenile fiction.

Another Impressive Installment in the Artemis Fowl Series
The Arctic Incident in as impressive, if not better, than the first book, Artemis Fowl. The book is action packed and can be enjoyable for anyone of any age, even though it is intended for teens. The book was in great condition when I got it. The condition was as if I had personally gone to the book store and picked it off the shelf myself. Over all, don't worry about this book not being in great condition when you order it; it will be. Now time for the actual book review.The book is a fantasy novel, obviously because of the fairies in it. Now, if you enjoyed the first Artemis Fowl book, it is more then likely you will enjoy this book. If you did not enjoy the first book, then you won't like this book. Also, if you haven't read the first book, do so before reading this one. It is only reasonable to read the series in order. I know that there are some series where you can read each installment individually without having to read the others, but the Artemis Fowl series isn't like that. Yes, you might be able to sort of understand the plot and concept, but many details are used in the first book that contribute to the second. So, read the first book, if you liked the first book, buy the second one!(No spoilers)Now, it is time for the actual review of the content the book holds. The Arctic Incident is more action packed than the first. There are two main crucial plots going on in the story. One is a plot to overthrow the LEP, and the commander of the operation is unknown. The other is Artemis trying to rescue his father. The LEP and Artemis make a compromise to help each other with their missions. The book is written well, and the vocabulary in it would benefit anybody. The book is fast paced, but that doesn't mean it leaves out details. You will get a clear vision of the surroundings, and be able to keep anybody interested. Overall, I think this is a great book, and would recommend it to people I know. The score is a 10/10, and that is all!

We love this series for cross country travel with grandsons ages 10-12.
Artmis and Holly cooperate just this once to solve two problems, one in each respective world. All the characters you loved in book one are here plus one new villain. Both grandsons and grand parents agreed not to read the series so we can enjoy them on road trips in the future.

This book is a Dud!
I was was very disappointed with this book. All the hype and fanfare and the book was a dud. It was a difficult read, although I did try several time I just could not finish it, so I'm going to give it back to Audible and maybe there will be a small child that can get something out of it.

Second Artemus Fowl
I read this shortly after the first Artemus Fowl book and although it isn't as instantly grabbing as the first one, Which I felt grabbed you and sucked you into the story right away, it is excellent. This book is a little slower paced than the first one but it gets going and when it does its just as good! I really enjoyed this finished it in two days because I just couldn't put it down.Excellent read!
