Good jabon
I used it in cool weather, it works great and clean fast. It is better than regular shaving products but It will not come close to Arko.

My favorite shaving stick
I've used a handful of different shaving sticks (Arko, Derby, Palmolive, this one) since I started wet shaving and I like La Toja best of all.La Toja's scent beats all of the others by a mile. It isn't harsh and acrid like Derby or Arko, neither does it have that plain soapy smell you get with the Palmolive stick. La Toja smells like sandalwood with a hint of a marine note--very pleasant and not too powdery/sweet at all. I find a lot of similarities between the fragrance of this soap and that of Lea Classic, another superb Spanish shaving soap.La Toja lathers up with ease. I tested it out first on my hand (rubbing the stick right against my palm to load up) and I was amazed with the lather piling up in my synthetic shaving brush once I started whipping it up. La Toja didn't disappoint when it came time to face lather either--my stubble picked up plenty of soap and I got an equally thick plentiful lather as when I lathered it in my hand. La Toja is every bit as simple to lather as Arko, which is famed for its lather-ability.While I have used slicker soaps and creams, I had no issues in getting a great shave with La Toja. I'm totally irritation free and enjoying nice, close shaves with this stick. This soap has nice moisturizing properties as well, especially considering the price. I could immediately tell after the first test lather in my palm when I rinsed my hand. After my hands dried off, the one I used the soap on was notably softer and smoother than my other hand. This held true following the shave. My face feels great--not dried out at all even in the crisp fall weather here in Michigan. While it's a minor thing, I really like the way the stick is packaged with a hard plastic tube to protect it. My only gripe is that the soap stick keeps wanting to fall out of the plastic base when I'm applying it to my skin.La Toja makes an excellent shaving soap that I'm sure most shavers would be happy with.

Travel and every day
I got this to try adding to my travel kit. Instead I’ve been using it every day. Makes my safety razor shaving a lot faster and less tedious to just face lather rather than making bloom water, whipping up up the soap, then working into the grain, etc. I’m a big fan of this after trying many soaps and will buy more. I might try a few other shave sticks too

Ugh.
So I’ve been wet shaving over a decade. I prefer harder soaps like Proraso and Tabac. Getting that out of the way, I have never dealt with a thinner, less useful soap in my life. It never seems be lubricating enough. Maybe this is just the case with softer soaps? End result makes this soap absurdly unusable.Mine doesn’t even have a good scent. It doesn’t smell bad, it just smells like hand soap.

Not the same as it was, is it the real thing? UPDATED New Formulation
I have purchased this shaving stick on 2 different occasions, with different results about 1 year apartThe first time I purchased it, it came fairly well put together. The foil wrap was tight and adhered to itself, it was well set into the 'base' and held together well for ease of application. The Soap/Stick itself was very smoothly finished, and the top had a bevel on the exposed edge, much in the same shape as the top of the red cap. I used it for a while, and noted that it took a little effort to lather up compared to some others, had a pleasant smell (strong sandalwood), and definitely noticed a difference in lather and performance of the soap if a pre-shave/prewash was done. Basically the natural oils on the face seemed to interfere with the soap.I am not sure if this recent one is a genuine product or not, because it is so different. The packaging looks mostly the same, but it shipped in a plastic amazon bag, with plastic shrink wrap around it. Also, the stick itself looks less yellow/cream colored and more chalky white (see picture). The stick itself is not finished as well. It is rougher, a little uneven, and no bevel at the top. The foil was not stuck to itself, so just unravels on its own. It was basically lose in the 'base' and while shipping may have dislodged it, it was not pressed very well into the 'stands' in the base which hold it in place. The sandalwood smell is much more diminished, even when compared to the year-old stick. The foaming action is very different, as it lathers up nearly instantly with little effort, regardless of prewash. This part is actually a little better, but it really begs the question; Is this really the same product? Is it a fake version of the original product, or was my first one fake? Or did they cheapen out on the packaging and change the formula? This I cannot answer, but it is very different. Overall, I prefer the presentation and smell of the first one I purchased, though I can appreciate the ease of lathering now.UPDATE:Apparently to meet different regulations in Europe or some sort, the product was reformulated, no longer has the mineral salts, and may not be made from tallow anymore. So what differentiates this from any other soap, unsure.

Good
Second time buying this. I use it for shaving with a straight razor, and it works well for that. It also lasts for a very long time and is expensive.
