I've heard this book referred to as the "definitive guide to worship". That's pretty much an accurate description. Bob teaches on both the spiritual and practical aspects of worship. There are many out there who discuss modern approaches to worship. Some are good; some make worship into an idol. Worship can be artistic and done with excellence, but if you elevate the importance of that above the raw genuine encounter with a loving and almighty God, you've missed the mark and have deviated from worship into idolatry of a music genre. Bob teaches worship in a way that carefully navigates this.Some may look at a book from 30 years ago and say, "How can this be relevant today?" Fantastic worship theology book. It give reason and purpose to why we sing in services, what the end goal is and how to practically go about it. Great theology to learn whether you sing, play an instrument or simply love God.
