Even though the amazon fitment chart doesn't show my model. This is the correct filter for: Whirlpool model# WRS315SDHZ02 This filter is incredibly easy to install. My application is a side-by-side freezer (left) refrigerator (right). The filter depending on the model can be located below the freezer door as my model is, or inside the refrigerator door upper right corner. There's no need to pull the refrigerator out to shut off water, because the valve closes as you pull out the old filter. I was able to do my filter without laying on the ground. Kneeling with my arm in a sling. Step 1: Open freezer door Step 2: Open filter access door and notice it pulls the old filter out as you open the door. Step 3: Note the directional arrow tabs. There's one on the back of the filter and one to the left to indicate proper orientation. This is because it will only go in one way so pay attention and don't force it. Step 4: with old used filter cartridge pulled out, align the arrows in the same direction and lightly but firmly push new filter until it starts to make contact. Step 5: Finish seating the new filter using the access door. Make sure it closes and latches completely. You will notice a sound of water and air as water fills the cartridge. Step 6: Using a jar or glass, purge the air completely through the system at the regular water spout and continue for a few cups of water. Step 7: Reset the Filter timer. On my model it was the colder select button held for 3 seconds. Then you'll see the filter LED light go on, then go off. Step 8: Inspect for leaks. Use a flashing look underneath. You may want to use a small mirror if you can't lay flat. But you'll know if you have a leak. If no leaks than your done! If so, the quickest way to stop it is to pull the cartridge. Inspect and make sure the O-rings are not rolled or damaged. If they look fine or if they roll off, you may try applying a small light coat of petroleum jelly such as chap stick or vaseline as a previous person mentioned. However, I wouldn't do this unless your O-ring seals continue to roll. The whole process only takes a few minutes! You can do this! I would agree that it's probably overpriced and there may be similar filters. But, I chose this filter because even though it probably is Chinese made. It doesn't have a NSF certificate from inspection from China to be sold as "Safe" to use for containment of Food or drink. That tells me that the quality control is at a company level in the states. It's worth the peace of mind for me to spend the difference in cost. It would give even more peace of mind if it did say made in America. Just saying. I still give it 5 stars because it arrived fast. It works well and improves well water anesthetics. This is the second one I have bought and I am satisfied with the flow and taste even a little after 6 months of running well water through it with just a water softener and no other pre-filtration. Definitely would last longer on municipal water or having proper whole home filtration, based on testing to see what is above the MCL for your particular well if you have one. Turbidity, natural occurring minerals and scale (soaping) from softener regeneration are usually what plugs up filters etc. If you're on municipal water, typically distribution lines are flushed at least once a year. Usually in the fall. You may call to ask when your area may get flushed. That way you can help flush any disinfection byproducts and Turbidity out of your garden hose before it goes into the house and once it's clear, then may be the best time for filter replacement and or cleaning water softner regeneration tanks. We’ve tried a few off-brand filters before this one, but honestly, the Everydrop filters really do perform better. This one fit our Whirlpool fridge without any issues and installed in under a minute — no leaks, no weird noises, just snapped right in. After a few cycles to flush it out, the water came through super clean. We immediately noticed a difference in taste, way less chlorine flavor and no more strange aftertaste that we used to get with generics. The ice cubes are crystal clear again too, which probably says something about the filtration quality. I also appreciate that the water flow stayed strong. With cheaper filters, we usually get slower flow after a few weeks, but this one’s holding up well even a month in. The only downside is the price — it’s not cheap. This is a replacement water filter for my Maytag side by side fridge. If the replacement filters aren’t the original for the named appliances, they don’t fit. I had that problem when I purchased off brands. They were too long and the filter door kept popping open. Door wouldn’t stay closed. This particular filter fits well in my Maytag, which is built by Whirlpool. Functions well. Be sure you align the arrows, in other words, both arrows on door and bottom of filter have to go same direction! Pricy!!! Better price in two pack, but hasn’t been available. Had to buy single!

Ordered as a replacement filter for my Whirlpool refrigerator. Clear instructions on the cartridge made for an easy install and wow did my water taste amazing and flow so much stronger. Highly recommend

Does the trick however I wish the price had not gone up so drastically so I’ll be looking for another brand that will do the same thing. It’s hard to tell if the water tastes any differently because who knows what is actually coming out of the city water lines but it is nice to have this filter in place to be proactive. If off brands can sell it for half the price, I wish Whirlpool would give their customers a break and do the same.

Make sure you buy the unit that fits with your model of fridge. Great OEM filter replacement. Removes all tastes from our water. Doesn't last as long as we would like, but we do run a lot of water though it. Be sure to run the 2-3 liters through it to remove charcoal before drinking.
