UPINS 12 Piece Water Color Brush Pen Set for Watercolor Paint Markers

I have been using these watercolor brush pens since 06-2024 and they are still going strong! The versatility is amazing for crafting and art. I do use these mostly for watercolor painting and watercolor pencils. I add a tiny drop of 99% isopropyl alcohol to make sure mold and slime doesn't form over time. The value is good especially for the variety of brush sizes that come in the set. Get some pipettes from Amazon to add the water it's easier than the vacuum method for me. For the price you can't go wrong.

These brushes worked well for me, but I did have trouble unscrewing them to fill with water. They do not screw on and off in the usual righty tighty, lefty loosey fashion but just the opposite. If I haven't watched Project Hail Mary recently, I'd never have tried to open them that way. IYKYK.

I found that while these have a great range of sizes, brush type and tips, the seals for the water between the brush and the handle was a bit poor, which resulted in water consistently moving to the brush tip while in use. This is far from a major flaw, but makes for intense detail work or harsher pigmentation in sections difficult, and can water-down or pool even without applied pressure. If you're a beginner looking to try something cheap and with a wide range of techniques and brush shapes--this is great and easy to carry and use! I find that these would also be good for backgrounds, skies / softer layers before adding detail. However, I found these difficult for subject matter, smaller paintings, or fine details.

Loved these pens. Helps reduce the mess and no leaks. Painting is fun and easy while traveling with these brushes.

I bought my 9yo daughter a watercolor set for Christmas and loved the water pen brush that came in her kit so much that I purchased these for her to use in place of the traditional watercolor brushes. Listen, these water pen brushes are a GAME CHANGER for people with children and for parents who fear the mess water color painting can cause. Now no mess!! Fill the pen as indicated, get a sheet of paper towel, grab your watercolor paint kit, and BINGO! Hours of fun! I even purchased watercolor coloring books for the kids and they just grab their loaded water pen brush, and the coloring books (since the paint is on the side of the page) and they bring it with them on car rides instead of their tablets sometimes. I keep a water bottle with me for reloading their pens as needed. I mean GAME CHANGER!! The pens are great quality for the price. No leaks, good operation, brushes are nice, distribute paint well, and clean very easily. Would definitely recommend!

Wish I had paid closer attention to the reviews that mentioned the tops of these water pens screw off/on in the opposite direction than usual; first one I tried to open snapped right in half at the screw top when I tried to open it the “typical” direction. Seal on the screw tops isn’t as tight as I wish it was, as they do leak a little bit at the seams at times. For the price, and as someone new to watercolor pens, I think the brushes themselves are good for the price point, just make sure to be careful with them as they are a bit delicate

I'm getting use to these, but I think they can be a little messy. I would recommend putting water in the when you begin a project. Works well in travel kits.

WARNING: I'M NOT YELLING IN ALL CAPS, JUST LEGALLY BLIND. I'VE HAD THIS SET FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. LIKE A TIMEX WATCH, THESE WATER BRUSH PAINT PENS TAKE A LICKING AND KEEP ON TICKING! THEY ARE SO DURABLE AND HOLD THEIR SHAPE VERY WELL AND I HAVEN'T LOST A SINGLE FIBER EVEN AFTER TAKING A TON OF USE & ABUSE! THEY DO UNSCREW IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. AT FIRST IT SEEMS AWKWARD BUT AFTER A FASHION IT BECOMES SECOND NATURE TO THREAD & UNTHREAD THE BRUSH TIP FROM THE WATER RESIVOR. THEY ARE A LITTLE TEMPERMENTAL TO REFILL BUT I'VE FOUND USING A SYRINGE DOES THE TRICK VERY WELL! I'VE HAD NO MISHAPS OR LEAKS FROM ANY OF THE BRUSHES IN THIS SET! THIS IS AN AMAZING QUALITY WATER BRUSH PEN SET! THEY WORK VERY WELL FOR EVERYTHING FROM LARGE WASHES TO FINE LINE DETAILSI TO AID IN THE WATERCOLOR PAPER STRETCHING EVEN USE THE LARGEST FLAT BRUSHES TO PRE-WET MY WATERCOLOR PAPER. I ALSO KEEP ALL MY BRUSHES FILLED WITH WATER TO EASILY SWITCH OUT THE RESIVORS WHEN MY FAVORITE BRUSH RUNS OUT OF WATER! THEY ARE SO EASY TO USE. THEY WORK GREAT WITH WATERCOLOR PENCILS AND DRY PAN WATERCOLOR PAINTS. THESE WATERCOLOR BRUSH PENS WORK SO WELL, I'VE GIVEN UP ON USING STANDARD SYNTHETIC & REAL HAIR WATERCOLOR BRUSHES AND OTHER HIGH END WATER BRUSH PENS. MY ONLY WISH IS THAT THEY WOULD DESIGN AN OVAL WASH BRUSH TIP. THESE ARE A GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE WATER BRUSH PENS!!!

This is something new to me I had never used water brushes before. So I don’t have anything to compare them too but I will say I do like them. Only problem I had ( and it’s a small one) is trying to open the tops to add water. I don't know if it’s just me or if the tops screw on the opposite way. It may just be the way I hold it. But aside from that I love them. I haven’t really used them a lot yet though.

I use these all the time when painting outside. The only issue I have with them is that the large square brushes are *super* hard to squeeze, barely any water comes out. So, I just use another brush to wet the paint or paper before using the large square ones.

I was very happy to receive my water-brushes, I have been using regular brushes but with those it is much easier because I don't have to dip my brush every time I need to add wate .All you have to do is fill the cartridge and add water and you are ready to go. Those are amazing and recommend them to any artist who loves to paint either watercolor or acrylic, but not for oil painting.
