Trials of Mana (PS4)

I bought this because I am a huge fan of the original "Secret of Mana" and have recently purchased a PS5 which plays PS4 games as well. So this was a fantastic trip down memory lane! Literally hundreds of hours of gameplay plus the game can be played with different difficulty settings and depending on characters you choose, there are different aspects and new places to discover every time you play again. A great battle mode, fantastic graphics and a fun twist to the story at the end - you can save and keep playing with the items you have collected in the previous game for your new adventure too! I would rate this even higher than the original "Secret of Mana" which is my favourite. Would highly recommend, you get your money's worth here for sure and great for getting back into gaming after a long break.

If you're a fan of some of the more action-heavy JRPGs with real-time combat, like the Tales or Ys series, then this game is 100% for you. The combat is great, it's quick and addictive and has just the right amount of strategy to keep it from being too easy. By the same token, there's also a cool levelling and class system that lets you customise you characters, party, and play-style in the way that best suits you. The 6 different characters all play pretty differently, and the chance to play the game with whichever three you didn't pick first to see how their stories play out is a really good incentive to replay once you're done with your first play through. The world is beautiful and just begs to be explored, and while the simple story isn't particularly deep, it's fairly charming in a Dragon Quest sort of way. The English voice acting isn't great, but you can always switch to the Japanese vocal track instead, which is a bit better.

Trials of mana is an very enjoyable and fun game.. Excellent.

Decent game, lovely designs and graphics. Little bit boring as you need to complete it 3 times to get the platinum but style of game makes it enjoyable

Ok ish game easily 20 years out of date not very long game or many things or places to go also very much a kids game only takes about 25 30 hours to complete of which most of that time will be taken up grinding so you can beat the rock hard many many bosses typical square enix game of the period if you can get it cheap less than £20 its ok for that price not the worse rpg ever but compared to witcher skyrim fallout etc it's not in the same atmosphere never mind league
