Great air conditioner for my sleeve!
Update: Unit can be glitchy with the cooling function. Within first 2 months of install, it would sometimes not col and just have the fan on. I didn't notice this happening often but today on July 1, 2022, I turned on the unit all day and the cooling stopped working. Apparently it was blowing air but the condensers weren't working. I turned off the ac for about 20 min to let it rest and sure enough it is working again. If I know how to deal with this glitch, then I can deal. Unfortunately I am limited to this brand as it is the only one that fits the sleeve in the wall, 1952 building in NYC. Thankfully I got a high BTU. HOPEFULLY this unit will work until I can replace in the winter. Too pricey to replace in the middle of summer! This is the older version of the current model, FFTA142WA2. I researched this and it appears that Frigidaire redesigned the face but the technical specs are the SAME! 9.3 ENERGY EFFICIENCY, AND MEASUREMENTS!Great ac for my living room. Brings the humidity down and seems to cool the room well. This unit replaced my 10 year old LG 10k btu unit which never seemed to cool my living room down enough. This unit is probably not the best energy saver but it dries the air which might free me from using my dehumidifier this summer. 4.3 PINTS PER HOUR!Very happy as it seems to work well. I used it for the first time since install today and it is comfy.

3 years later and no problems!
I bought my unit in 2016. I researched the unit in my past orders to give a friend the model number as i recommend it. i have a 2-level 750 square foot condo, this unit is closer to the upper level and cools it nicely. The downstairs stays cool on the hottest of days (love my porcelain tile floors!), but upstairs is a sauna, until I turn on the AC. The remote is easy to work and i love the temperature sensor on it! I use mine regularly (menopause hot flashes) and no issues whatsoever.

Do not buy this unit!
This unit is made to fail just after the warranty expires. I got 5 summer months out of it spread over 2 summers. Add in the winter months and it's out of it's one year warranty. The bearings went out of the motor. Is it a sealed motor? Who knows, but the rusty water was evident from the discoloration on the fan and motor. The fan is supposed to push the moisture out the back but it doesn't appear to do that from the looks of the unit. Any unit that does not drain and relies on the fan to cool the copper tubing laying in a pool of murky water that is rusting the unit is a terrible design, and all brands seemingly are using this design. The consumer is at such a disadvantage because there is no other choice for a thru the wall unit. Remember when a window a/c would last 30 yrs or more?!!! We are fortunate to get more than a summer's use out of this junk that all comes from China. Frigidaire certainly knows how to make money off of unsuspecting consumers.

Cools Well
It cools well, but is fairly loud. I don't mind it, but my wife complains about it a lot. The thing that gets me is that it's reset into eco mode every time I turn it on. So annoying! I cant just have it blow air indefinitely unless I turn it on and set the mode. My last Frigidaire remembered the last mode. How hard is that to implement?

And it fit nicely in the place of its predecessor
Everything was included for a simple, complete installation. And it fit nicely in the place of its predecessor. It's done a fine job of keep us cool during the hot humid August.

Unusable as a through-the-wall unit
Amazing how a company specializing in cooling equipment can screw up one of its most basic products.Let me count the ways:1) The front is flimsy plastic. Considering that this is a through-the-wall unit - and a heavy one at that - it shouldn't be very hard to imagine that it will be pushed and shoved into the sleeve, as there is simply no other way to get it there. Pushing, due to some unfortunate laws of physics, can only be done from the front. The very first push cracked the plastic front in the bottom left corner. Trying to find a sturdier place to press on, I pushed in upper left corner, immediately breaking the thin plastic holding the display window in place.2) The unit is clearly not designed to work inside a standard issue wall sleeve. It cools for 5 minutes, after which gets overheated and works on fan for half an hour. Rinse, repeat. Absolutely useless. The only way it does not get overheated is if you actually put it in the window where it gets air circulation. The area to be cooled is around 600 sq. ft. - well within the advertised 700 sq. ft. limit. The two stars are only because it does work well as a window unit, even though this is not its purpose.

Good quality
Bought this AC 2 summer's ago, it has good cooling quality and it was easy to Install. Takes about 10 minutes for us to feel it working but it is cooling a fairly large space as my entry way living room and kitchen are all connected (open concept). Highly recommend if you can afford the price tag.

Powerful and Quiet
This unit is quiet and powerful, none of that annoying vibration. It cools a large room very quickly and throws a strong stream of cold air and has a variety of efficiency settings. It fits easily in the existing Thru-The-Wall sleeve, is well made, and comes with its own cover which some competing brands do not provide. The temperature sensor in the multi function remote control allows for more efficient cooling in the parts of the room furthest from the air conditioner.I will purchase this unit again to replace my other older air conditioners for its quality and price.
