Really like this simple cheese slicer! Sturdy and does the job, super easy to clean.

I've had mine about a year now and probably like others, broke the wire after about 12 uses. Forgot where I put the extra parts so I came back to Amazon to research. After reading a few reviews, I remembered exactly what happened when my slicer wire broke. The wire broke and the pins flew off in unknown directions. I finally found one pin and one wire in my kitchen drawer. Fortunately, the pins and extra wires are available using the product code sent to me by vendor - B0BTPMLP9P - This contains 5 replacement wires and 2 replacement pins for $9.99. Not awful, but overpriced by about 33% in my opinion. I will likely just pay $9.99 for a new slicer with extra 2 wires since its already installed. I would rather see a package of 4 pins for sale with 5 wires for $7.99 and then I would likely go that route instead. Apparently replacing the wire is a fairly fiddly process and unless you have a vice of some type, its frustrating. Still worth four stars.

Great size and sturdy for dense cheeses

This hand held cheese slicer works perfectly to slice any type of cheese.

I liked the length (5"). We didn't use it that often--less than once a week. However, it broke (wire detached from handle) when I was using it on Meunster cheese today (which is a relatively soft cheese).UPDATE: When I came here to review, I saw that it comes with two additional wires! Sure enough, the tiny ziplock bag w wires and extra tiny bolts was in my kitchenware drawer. Problem fixed and I increased my rating from 3-->5 stars.

I bought this to do charcuterie because I thought it would give a cleaner, neater edge as I cut the cheese. Especially soft cheese (goat, Brie) that always looks a little ragged when cut. Don’t know why this wire doesn’t work as advertised, but zero difference between using this and a knife. Also if you’re cutting a largish Brie—it’s not long enough to cut in one go—so that kinda defeats the purpose !! Useless.
