What is the space between the nounting bolts? I want to replace an old pastic reel, which has spacing 14" on center between bolts.

The mounting holes are 16" on-center horizontally, and 13 1/2" on-center vertically. The are really good hose reels, and maybe you can bolt a couple of 18" 2x4 on your 14" spacings and bolt the reel into the 2x4's.

Does this have metal fittings (the part that you attach the hose to), or is it cheap plastic?

YES, It has Metal fittings. They are Brass, non-corrosive and work well. The older model had metal fittings made from steel that had problems, but not the new ones.

How do you stop it from leaking?

Has anyone tried a 100' length of 3/4" hose? I'm wondering if that length would fit on the spool given the larger diameter?
