Great. Beware that the hose guide is greased! Obviously no hardware!
So, when I received it, I opened the box and grabbed it by the hose guide and got a handful of grease. I guess it is good that it is lubricated but something to keep in mind. Many reviews complain that it doesn't come with hardware. This should be obvious. Some people mount it to brick, some to wood, etc. And not everybody likes the same kind of hardware. I suppose that maybe they could be more explicit that mounting hardware isn't included. But it should be obvious. I mounted it using 3/8" by 2 1/4" Tapcon concrete screws. I should have used 5/16" because the 3/8" uses a 3/8" drill into the concrete but the threads are actually about 1/2" diameter and thus I actually had to drill out the holes in the hose reel slightly. But that wasn't a big deal and it is solidly mounted to my house. Even so, had I realized, I would have used 5/16" instead. See picture. One reviewer suggested only doing the top bolts, since your wall might not be perfectly flat and doing all four might twist it. Not a bad idea but my wall happened to be quite flat and I did all four. Or maybe you could put in all four but leave the bottom ones slightly loose. The screws it is assembled with are black painted. One reviewer suggested replacing them with stainless screws. Not a bad idea but I haven't yet. It is surprisingly light, but that is because it is aluminum. When I first picked it up, I thought it wasn't sturdy because it is so light. But that is just because of the aluminum. And so of course it won't rust. Before picking this one, I saw some other products here on Amazon, many in stainless steel. Some of them costing many times more than this. I saw one SS model here that was in the same price range, but its hose guide was plastic and got poor reviews, so I got this. Now, I've only used it a few times, so I can't say how long it will last, but it certainly seems sturdy. Yet many users report longevity issues. So, I have some concerns there. I guess time will tell. But at least for the moment, zero leaks, works perfect. Some people report that the rubber grip on the handle deteriorates. I'm considering making a nice wood one on a lathe. At any rate, there are lots of options if the rubber grip deteriorates. I bought it with the hose guide. That makes it a lot more expensive, and many people report the guide being problematic over time. I like it so much I bought a second unit for the back yard, but I got the second unit without the guide. It says it holds 125 feet of 5/8" hose. I'm not sure it will, but maybe. I'm using 75 feet of 3/4" hose, and it works well. I also replaced the short leader hose my own short 3/4" hose rather than use what it came with.

Great Garden Hose Reel
I needed a new garden hose reel for my back yard as the old plastic ground-based reel fell apart. After plenty of research, I purchased this one. What an excellent choice. Very well made, super sturdy, and works like a charm. And, it looks great! Love the shelf on top, on which I store extra hose nozzles, the occasional water bottle while moving the lawn, work gloves, etc. In my case, I mounted it to a poured concrete wall using a carbide-tipped drill bit, hammer drill, and tapcon screws. It was really tough getting this screwed all the way in but well-worth it. The only issue, which they do address in their instructions and on the website, is that the leader hose may spin and knot/kink, when it is not supposed to. I shot a bit of silicone spray inside the mechanism which they suggest and all is now good. Pulling the hose out is a breeze. And to my pleasant surprise, reeling it back up is equally easy. I did not want the model that has the worm screw that makes the hose coil a certain way. Instead, I use my hand to guide it when reeling it in. I also selected this one since it is unlikely to rust (cast aluminum?). Love this hose reel, the way it looks, and how easy it is to pull out the hose and reel it back in! I highly recommend this.

Much higher quality than the plastic ones. Looks beautiful too!
Amazing high quality product. I will never purchase another plastic hose reel. The metal construction and brass fittings are incredible. It looks great, and functions sit should. Highly Recommend!!!

Very nice decorative Hose Reel!!
Looks great. Feels like quality, heavy metal material. Nice brass fittings. Easy to assemble and attach to the house. I see people have complained about no mounting screws are included, but they don't know if you are attaching to wood, concrete, brick, etc. Just make sure you get the right size and length screws and washers if needed. So far it reels in the hose effortlessly. My only wish is if it had a stop or a way to lock the arm when rolled up. It seems to unravel a bit if you don't get it just right. I can't comment on longevity yet, as I just received it.

Expensive, but love it
I have a hard time understanding why all hose reels like this are so expensive, but I do love it. I did think this was supposed to be black or charcoal color, but it's not. I guess it does say it's more of a copper color, must have missed that detail. The hose does sometimes get caught on the outside of the reel, which is annoying, but that is probably more of a me problem not keeping the hose in place while reeling it in. Otherwise it's really nice and sturdy. I like the shelf on top.

Sturdy hose reel with flexible mounting options
We’ve been very happy with this hose reel. It feels solid and well built, especially compared to plastic reels we’ve used before. We mounted it on two cedar posts instead of the house so we could place it closer to where we actually need the hose. This setup has worked really well for our long driveway and the trees we water regularly. The reel easily handles a full 100-foot hose and stays stable when pulling the hose out or rolling it back in. What stands out most is how sturdy it feels, even when fully loaded. Rolling the hose is smooth, and it keeps everything off the ground and neatly organized. It also looks good in the space, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this has worked exactly as we hoped. We’re really happy with it and would definitely use the same setup again.

Excellent hose reel
I have 3 of these . they work great, and easily hold 100 feet of 5/8 hose. Plus they are very elegant-looking. Another plus: spare fitting are available such as the brass fitting that connects to the water supply. Very helpful as I had one burst in freezing weather a few years ago because I didn't winterize properly. Beats having to buy a new $180. reel. The part costs $10.

Smooth Operator
Over the years I have owned many hose reels. This is the best one so far. It is sturdy and easy to crank when reeling in a heavy hose. No leaks, just performance.

add the lead pipe
works like a charm, I will however say, take the optional lead hose, otherwise straight connecting a hose causes it to bend at the base

Works well looks good
Very easily winds up a heavy hose, though my husband had to make a minor adjustment as the hose fitting was a bit too wide for the space. He heated the metal fitting on the Hose Reel and bent it enough for the hose fitting to attach. The hose was Hoselink ITEM: 4807-20 Superflex Garden Hose Durable and Kink Resistant.
