Great for Rocky Looks; Kudos for Johnson Co, Kansas
First and Foremost, the seller is the best vendor I've ever encountered: the Johnson County Library (Kansas). Its book arrived in November. I immediately devoured it-- we are designing a backyard Zen garden and I've collected and analyzed a dozen books. As I was enjoying this, post-itting noteworthy photos and text, I came to a full stop. One of the library's less-than-upright patrons had literally ripped-off pp 49-50!Then other matters (four national holidays, pandemic) intruded and this weekend after Groundhogs Day, I realized I still missed 49-50. I sent an email to the library, merely asking them to send me photos of the 2 missing pages if they still have the book in inventory. Yesterday (Wednesday) an unexpected package plopped on my doorstep. It was a brand-new (apparently) copy of the same book! Complete!! 49-50 in full living color! So when you see the Johnson County Public Library as a vendor, trust them! Now, as for the book: it's loaded with photos of well-constructed walks, walls, columns, etc. There are color sketches explaining construction. There are design tips, construction tips, smart tips. One I especially like: "Understanding Gravity". (Weightier than you'd guess!) For larger projects, an entire page will lay out a topic, e.g., Site Evaluation.Kudos to author Pat Sagui!

Exactly what I needed.
This is a great reference guide with lots of pictures and easy to understand direction. I've watch several YouTube videos and had countless suggestions from neighbors and strangers on how to lay stone for our walkway. Having a hard copy of Sagui's book allows me to review what I've read and helps clarify what I've seen on videos. I find having the opportunity to flip through the pages and read up on the various ways to use stone helps increase my understanding. I highly recommend this book for someone with limited experience landscaping and using stone products.

Their might be other books out their Better/Cheaper, but I haven't found them yet and so I am just sharing that I am VERY satisfied with this book and a must for the first time home owner or first time a person wants to tackle these projects

Easly the best of the stonework books I bought
I bought 3 different well reviewed "stone" books and this one was easily the best of those. Lots of well taken pictures of genuinely _different_ styles and types of stone patios and walkways. The other books are shorter and have fewer good pictures. Also this book was best at describing the pros and cons of different types of stone and stone building. None of these books explain _exactly_ how to build stone patios and walls and pathways by yourself but this one has more detail than most out there.
