Great hole punch tool for crafting!
This punch is designed well and has a wheel that will allow you to select the size hole you want to punch. It is a paper punch designed for cards, card stock paper. I am using mine to make holes around used Christmas cards and crochet around them! I bought it because of the ability to choose the size hole and the ability to see it as you use the punch. There are videos on You Tube to crochet around Christmas Cards and other items such as holy cards you may have.

Ok for light duty. Not a long term solution for hole making in paper.
I purchased this as a close-out at Michaels for about $9.00. 10- year old granddaughter needed one for her origami crafts.I would have been upset had I paid full price of around $18. The metal handles are cheaply constructed and have rough edges. The two handles are held together with a rivet. They have been dipped in pink rubber/plastic that has a nice feel to it. They can be locked closed with a small rotating piece of metal, but only if the cutting pad is removed. The actual punches are of a harder metal and do cut perfect circles. They are hard to rotate, but after I showed granddaughter how to put thumb on one side and first finger on the opposite side, she was able to do it. They click into place by means of a notch cut into the wheel they are mounted on.My big complaint is with the pad which protect the punches while cutting holes. It was already damaged when I opened the package. The punch was not locked and the pad was installed. (It is impossible to lock the punch with the pad installed.) The pad is soft and if you use the same force making a small hole as you do making a big hole, it will cut into the pad. The pad is held in place by a PLASTIC split rod that has a little knob on the bottom. After insertion in the hole, it spreads apart and is held in by tension. I'm sure there is a name for it, but I do not know it. This pad must be smooth to make a good cut.Like I said, the pad was already damaged when I purchased the tool. It can be turned and reversed. There is also a spare one. If you are going to use this tool a lot; surprise, you are not unless you can figure out a way to make more of these pads and probably a way to make a new holding rod. Since the amount of pressure needed for use changes with the material and the size of hole, you will be damaging the pad. If you try to use this tool without a pad, you will damage the actual punches. There appears to be no way to clear the paper out of the punches. So far, not a problem, but we have only used the punch 3 or 4 times on each hole.

I think this is a great idea - 6 punches in one
I think this is a great idea - 6 punches in one. The tool can be difficult to use, depending on how strong you are and how often you need to use it. It can be difficult to turn the dial to the different punch sizes and squeeze the punch. Children and someone with arthritis may have difficulty using this (i.e., it takes more strength/energy to use than the standard Fiskars punch). The "tubes" that cut out the holes are open-ended and cone-shaped, so the punched holes fall out the opposite side of each tube. If a tube gets clogged, you can turn the tube in question around the dial so it's easily accessible and give the paper a little push with a thin object (like a pointed embossing tool). You can't lock the handles of the tool while one of the cutting tubes is locked into place without removing the cutting pad. Instead, I rotate the dial until I am between two tubes, and then I can lock the tool without removing the cutting pad. I like this tool because I don't have to buy and store 6 separate punches. I don't anticipate using it on a regular basis, so I'm not concerned about the little bit of additional effort required to use it, and hope it will loosen up over time from use.

Buy the real thing instead
So, this is basically just a normal leather punch that has been re-branded to make it appealing to papercrafters. You can buy a proper, heavy duty, leather punch for cheaper so that's what I would recommend. This one isn't terrible, it's just cheaply made in comparison and definitely overpriced for what it is. When mine arrived it was quite greasy, so you would definitely want to clean it before using it on any delicate paper projects. Also, it might be helpful to note that it doesn't work well on plastic films/sheeting.
