Does this come assembled or unassembled ? I have a hard right turn into my basement stairs. Not sure if it will fit.

It does arrive assembled. The one I ordered actually never arrived, though, and I had to cancel the order.

How does this differ from the original Jacobs Ladder that justifies the lower price?

This is the residential version of the commercial model. The Jacob's Ladder 2 is designed to fit through doorways found in residential homes - it's about 4 inches narrower in width and weighs less than the commercial model. The rungs are made of metal and wrapped in polyurethane sleeves. You can get a detailed breakdown of the differences by going to the manufacturer's website. If your house is big enough to fit the commercial model, I'd pony up the difference and just buy the regular Jacob's Ladder. The commercial model is designed to withstand the rigors of extreme use in a commercial gym (sort of like commercial v. residential treadmills). It's an awesome machine that will get you into incredible shape.
