Literally a lifesaver for my English Bulldog!
I came across this brand when researching ways and options to cook my dogs food and I can’t say enough how AMAZING this product is! We have 3 fur babies but our English bulldog has a million and one sensitivities and allergies and no matter what the vet wrote and suggested he got no relief. His hair was falling out, he had very red and inflamed skin and now after only two and a half weeks of stopping dog food and cooking all of their meals his skin has begun healing and his hair is growing back! We couldn’t be any more grateful for this brand and the huge impact it’s made in our dogs! Don’t hesitate go ahead and purchase this!!! We also love the turkey and whole wheat macaroni recipe as well!!

More work, but worth it. She loves it!!!
It took about 2 months to transition my 12 year old Lab to JFFD, but the effort is well worth the results. She had been on a number of premium kibbles over the years but in the last year her once beautiful coat has changed for the worse and she started to get dry flaky skin. Since she’s transitioned to JFFD her coat has improved immensely and the skin condition has cleared up. I’ve tried the Chicken & Rice as well as the Fish & Sweet Potato. The chicken and rice didn’t go well. My problem with the chicken was getting chicken livers and gizzards that were fresh enough. I’d try it again but just have to make sure the livers are fresh. She’s now on a rotation of the Beef and Fish recipes. It took some practice to get things tuned in and a good system going. I invested in a LEM MAXvac 500 because my old Foodsaver is to slow, a 20 quart, and two 12 quart stock pots, a 30 quart mixing bowl, and a big 15 quart strainer. I do all my cooking outside on a Camp Chef 3 burner stove. You don’t need all these things to do the job but having the right tools for the right job reduces stress and makes it much easier. FYI: I decided to boil the ground beef instead of sautéing it. Sautéing it left to much grease that was definitely not agreeable with her even when using 90/10 beef.

Perfect addition for fresh homemade dogfood
We have three dogs who all turned 12 in the past few months. We decided to feed them a combination of their usual senior kibble and fresh homemade dog food to see if we can keep them healthy. I did some research about what vitamins and minerals senior dogs need that may help difficult to get in fresh homemade dog food and stumbled across this nutrient blend. It comes in a resealable packet that I keep in the refrigerator between batches. I add it to cooked beef, chicken, or turkey mixed with cooked sweet potatoes, a little brown rice, spinach, broccoli, green beans, and ground egg shells. Our dogs are OBSESSED. It’s so easy to use and I feel good knowing I am supplementing them with the vitamins and minerals they need.

BUYER BEWARE
I spent over $50 to buy all of the ingredients to prepare the recipe; grass fed beef, organic produce. Only to realize AFTER putting the vitamins in the food that they had a strong odor of ammonia. I had to pitch the entire batch into the trash. Amazon refunded the money for the vitamins, but when I contacted Just Food For Dogs, they said that they couldn't do anything because I "bought the item through a 3rd party seller". Implying that they would have if I'd bought it directly from them. But in reality, THEY are the 3rd party seller. They are selling their products through Amazon. Sounds like just a lame excuse to me. Yeah, this big empty pan on my stove is all of the food I had to pitch into the trash. Should I have smelled it first? Yeah, maybe. But they shouldn't have sold me a bag of vitamins that smell like cat pee.

Jack Russell Terriers approved!
I have been making my own version of dog food for my two Jack Russell Terriers for about a year now. I read an article about having the proper vitamins and minerals in their food or it could lead to serious health issues later on. SO, my search began for a mix I could add to their food. I came across JustFoodForDoogs Nutrient Blend, read the reviews and decided to try it. My dogs LOVE this. Not only is it easy to mix in but they provide the recipe as well. Game changer. Super easy to to read and understand. I Just purchased another "flavor" for them and eager to try it out.

There are other whole food dog vitamins out there that I feel are better.
I bought this hoping it would be a good start making my dog homemade food. It wasn’t terrible but it did stink. I ended up switching to another multivitamin because it was organic and made with Whole Foods. This is just sort of a fishy powder like substance. Kinda chemmy. Wasn’t too impressed.

Picky Eater approved!
The only food my picky dog would reliably and excitedly eat. He’s been happily served this for over 5 years. My dog would starve himself for days and throwing up bile until the food he likes is served. He came to us as a rescue with him spine, ribcage and hips all sticking out. Yet not food motivated. Before this, I’ve tried high quality kibble, raw, freeze dried, fresh frozen, etc. He just seemed not interested in eating. I was worried. Sister of a friend is a vet and knew the company founder so told me about it. I took him to a JFFD local kitchen for a taste test. Not expecting much because he didn’t usually drink or eat out of the house due to nervousness. The kitchen brought out 3 samples, chicken, beef and pork. To our surprise, he went straight to the beef one and cleaned the plate. Ever since then, we’ve been cooking this for him. The cost isn’t that bad. It’s about $2.5-4/day for my 30 lbs moderately active dog. Including grocery, DIY pack and oils. I have tried cooking it stovetop and in an instant pot. Both fairly easy. I actually tried it myself, tastes great like shepard’s pie without salt. My dog also lost 1/3 of his teeth so this food is easier for him. It’s kept him at a healthy weight even tho this is the fattier recipe they have. We’re generous with servings and occasional double feeding. Been recommending and raving about it to any dogs with allergy, picky eating and weight issues.

Package states for intermittent/supplemental feeding only
Buying this packet of supplements only is the way to go. You scan the QR code to get the ingredients and cooking instructions. I have a chihuahua so a small batch is what I'll try first. Instructions say the whole packet makes 30 pounds of food. The only downside I can see is you have to order auto ship to get this item. I'll cancel after first shipment (30 days, no choice) and make subsequent purchases as needed. God willing and the creek don't rise. So thankful for this simple method for making homemade dog food. Instructions do state for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. I plan to use this for one meal per day. The other meal using air dried dog food.
