Evan Fischer Bumper for Dodge Dakota 1997-2004 Front Painted Black Steel Replaces # 55255845-PFM

I bought this along with the plastic bumper guard that sits below this piece. I also bought the left and right mounting brackets and put the whole front end assembly together first. The reason I got all these parts was because my original bumper on my 2000 Durango had rotted to hell. I figured that to just replace a single part or two would be much more trouble than to replace the whole front end. and by shopping on Amazon I found all the parts I needed and for under $200 for everything.. I couldn't go wrong.Had I tried to replace just the metal bumper it would have been a nightmare but by buying all the parts separate and putting it all together myself it was a synch to replace. When it came to installing the front end after I built it, It was only 8 Bolts and everything lined up perfectly. I was lucky I did it this way cause the bolts on the old bumper cover were all rotted and so were the mounts where they met the bumper. When I took the old front end off the mounts to the bumper itself just crumbled apart.This is a common problem with early 2000's Durangos and Dakotas. If you have front end rust... Which I know you do... Just replace the whole thing. You will be glad you did and it will look 100% better. As you can see from the pictures below,.

good product--getting the old bumper off required a grinder to cut the rusted bolts off (and had to replace them, of course). New bumper was a good fit and looks fine.

I had to hammer and bend the inner 2 brackets that are welded on where a lip on them got in the way of me setting the bumper all the way back. Other than that it looked good.

I bought this product as part of a Resto job on my 01 Dakota,The bumper came and does not have any mounting brackets, the OEM bumper has welded Mounting Brackets and this "Replace Ment' Bumper does not have any to Mount it.Unless you have a welded and Grinder, DO NOT BUY THIS BUMPER< SAVE YOU MONEY AND BUY ANTHER BRAND.

Replaced the rusty bumper on my '97 Dakota with this item and it fit perfectly. The hardest part of this process was removing the old bumper.This one came primed but I put two coats (all sides) of Rustoleum on it anyway and have been happily driving it around for many months. Great product, great price.

Great fit, nothing but positive things to say.My bumper came days earlier than expected and bolted right on my 1st generation (1998) Durango. The front bumper mounts were welded on compared to the bolted & torx screwed original - very nice. I did have to reuse and bolt on the side mounts, but no problems there. It came wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a fitted cardboard box, that was also wrapped with plastic wrap and there was no shipping damage. It stated made in Taiwan and to my surprise was not primer black but powder-coated satin black; it also stated this stamped on the box. While I was upset at first, I quickly realized that I did not 'have to' paint it now and it looked decent just being black. That is my Evan-Fischer bumper experience! This metal bumper brought my truck back from the dead my front end looks brand new. A good thing about this bumper is the screw holes to mount this have been fashioned on two brackets on the top which make it a very easy install

It did not take long at all to ship and plenty of time to get things fixed up. I do however think it could have come with replacement screws and bolts/nuts though. I know it doesn't come with those, but would have been great if it did.
