Helpful tip for other buyers
When I got this, I was pleased as it was exactly what I wanted. However, I plugged it in and could not get it to turn on. I became convinced it was faulty, and after trying various things, and reading the instructions it would still not work. Very luckily I had one last look at the inside, and this time noticed there was a tiny bit of clear plastic over the metal connector of the battery! So, I peeled it away, put the battery back in, and perfect, this time when I plugged it in, it immediately came to life. I am sure some other people might also think their phone is faulty, especially as this type of phone attracts people who are perhaps older or not very technical. I think the plastic on the battery connector should be red and say PEEL, or something like that, and mention it in the instructions, because it was so easy to not see this bit of clear plastic, and if you don't see it, then the phone just wont work. Also, the sim card cannot just be placed in position, you have to line it up then, press it down as you push it along, to get it under the tight metal band. This will then keep the sim in place. I am really happy with the phone, and the battery lasts ages. This phone replaces my NOKIA phone that I have had since 2002!

2013 Nokia 105 dual sim version was better
This is the 2019 version of the basic dual sim Nokia 105 and it isn't as good as the original 2013 UK version I owned for 7 years before I cracking its screen. My original 2013 version's battery life was twice as long as this 2019 version and had some useful features like a stopwatch, timer, very chill tones and a free racing game. This 2019 version's battery lasts for a few days on standby and it has no stopwatch or timer, but does have an alarm and reminders, but, why did Nokia hide the reminder settings (Go into the Calendar and press the # key repeatedly to get to it). This 2019 version's menu is chock full of games you try 3 times before clogging up the menu and access to the Settings and there are fewer, much more annoying, tones (just terrible tones). Also, it forgets if you chose single or dual sim after being turned off and on: The default is dual sim. Overall, it's still a cheap alternative to paying big tech good money to spy on and zap you with military grade microwaves and the screen is slightly better, but I'd still swap this 2019 version for a working version of my original UK 2013 version of the Nokia 105 dual sim, but don't know how it compares to the 2015 and 2017 versions, so you may not have experienced that OG goodness.

Hamstrung by poor predictive texting
Great value and easy to use, BUT predictive texting is SO frustrating.....I spent a long time trying everything, (including several Google searches), to get predictive text to work as it should/used to, (and like it did on my old Nokia 1110i from 2005.)(On this 105, to turn predictive text on, you click on "options", below left of text screen, and go to "Dictionary", then "English", and that partially enables it.)However, there is no facility to then choose alternate words, eg SAY; RAY; PAY. (That used to be the function of the * key, but not any more, the * key now only brings up all the ?!£ symbols). You have to go out of predictive text using the # key, delete the wrong word, and rewrite the word you want manually, then go back to predictive text with the # key! That is crazy, and SUCH a backward step. I went on Nokia Mobile Phone Chat Line, (the worst chat line I've ever experienced), and after 90min of going round in circles getting nowhere, the operative finally admitted that this feature was dropped on all the "simple feature phones" after 2016! The 3310 (2017) was apparently the last to have it!If you look at the 1* ratings here, you see lots of rants about this, but they all seem to assume it's because they have received a "non EU" phone because it says, "Made in Vietnam" inside. They are ALL and only made in Vietnam! There isn't an EU variant which works predictive script fully, at least not according to Nokia.com themselves.Apart from that major dislike, there are a few minor niggles. The phone is wonderfully small and light, but that also means the keys and numbers/letters are too, and the on-screen text size is also small. If your sight is ageing, like mine, that isn't great. The clarity of the numbers/letters isn't that good either. However that's because they are backlit, which makes them visible in the dark, but rather grey in daylight, (so that's both a plus and a minus)The final niggle is that this phone is very smooth and slippery. I've already nearly shot it across the room in getting it out of my pocket. A TPU case would be essential if I were keeping it.Finally, battery life on mine was terrible, not even 48hr standby time.I sent it back!

Great little phones
I bought 3 of these in the end and popped in PAYG SIMS.Me and the kids use them effectively as walkie-talkies which is great - and reassuring when they are away.

Sadly. Didn’t turn on
I bought this phone to help somebody out who needed to be able to have phone contact for emergencies. Sadly, it wouldn’t even turn on ,despite trying everything suggested on you tube videos and google searches.Because if it’s low price and also because I had it sent to somebody else , I haven’t returned it but also can’t recommend it

Great 2G entry level phone for light users / secure environments
For either those of us who work in fields that camera phones are not allowed, or as a backup or light user phone this would be ideal. Nokia have been in the market for a very long time producing entry level phones which just work; and have a battery life of WEEKS not hours. Highly recommended for basic functionality. Please note, this is not a 3G phone, and will only support 2G networks in the UK. This is not a smartphone and is not suitable for installing apps - it's a basic phone which allows calls, texts, and a few build in games.
